I get the same message: "not found". There are a lot of sub-menus on the CDIP site, I only looked at a few and didn't find any info about why it's not up and running, but it could well be buried in all that info.   There is a "contact us" link at the bottom of each page that you might want to try.

At 3-4 Knots, how much more effort could a scratched-up hull take to propel vs. a smooth one? One paddle/peddle stroke in a hundred? A thousand?   Unless they're deep enough to possibly cause leaks, consider them battle ribbons and
only affecting future sale price to a newby. 

I gooped a pocket "Boy Scout" compass (has a clear plastic rectangle backing) on my yak right between my legs where I can see it at a glance, used a little denatured alcohol to clean the surfaces well before the goop.  It's helpful even when it's not foggy to keep a steady heading toward an area -even ball buoys disappear from sight with swell/fog.

Whistle/horn: It's required equipment on small vessels per this USCG Power Squadron chart.  I put my whistle on a leash on my PFD in case I fall in and my yak floats away.  I think it can be heard the required distance, but an air horn would be louder, if harder to carry on the PFD.

I'm wondering what kind of tool you used to loosen the bolts/nuts holding the parts of the case together -see pics.   

Just wondering (from someone who hardly knows an amp from a watt) - would those charging prongs that stick out of the case be of any use to hook a ff battery to (I suppose it would be good to open and disconnect the old battery, so it doesn't explode.)? 

There was still a decent surfer's swell this morning in Capitola and Pleasure Pt (just to the west of Capitola), but nothing big, and wind O.K., so I'm going out from SC "Aldo's" yak ramp in the morning, 6:30 or so, heading out past the Mile Buoy trolling for hali's.  You're welcome to tag along, but with my record recently, you might be better off heading in the opposite direction. 

I just looked at the harbor entrance cam - pretty foggy (drizzle), but during the minute I looked, the swell was not rolling into the entrance.  And I believe I saw a kayak angler going out the entrance, looked to be heading east.  Maybe the angler will give us a report, some do that kind of thing.
