Title: Fish ID
Post by: elmerwood on May 27, 2014, 11:10:03 AM
I can't tell what the fish in her left hand is. We caught this up in Spicer Reservoir this past weekend, First I thought it looks like a Steelhead or Brown but I'm not sure. Whats the verdict? Thanks

Sounds good to me, I've just never caught one so dark in color. I searched Google for "Rainbow Trout dark" and was able to find a bunch like it. Thanks guys.

That darker fish is a rainbow that went through the throes of spawning this spring.  They'll turn all sorts of different colors and shades during the spawn.
