For Sale / 2019 Outback
« on: March 30, 2022, 04:38:20 PM »
I have a 19’ outback I’d like to sell. 2700 or best offer. When I bought the kayak it had an anchor dolly which I removed and reinstalled the screws. If someone buys the kayak and want’s the dolly I still have it.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Ocean Cove 10/5
« on: October 06, 2019, 08:52:37 AM »
A friend and I finally got out for rock fish. We went to ocean cove yesterday and were on the water by around 9. We fished until a little after 2. Tried a verity of swim baits and squid. Both of us caught some canaries, a couple blues, and a China. My biggest fish of the day was a yellow eye which fought pretty good, it was released in good shape. We stayed about a half mile straight out from the cove. I haven’t been out on waves that big so I felt sick the whole time out and for the drive home. It was a lot of fun besides feeling like crap.

Yeah, blue cooler and sun shirt. How’d you do yesterday? I think I talked to you JP in the parking lot. Good to hear you guys caught a bunch of crab. You got me thinking about trying that myself.

I got around to looking it up, it’s a pacific electric ray. I definitely won’t be grabbing another one of these! I had no idea there was anything that could shock you around here. It wasn’t bad, just really surprising!

I started off jigging just south of Hog, caught one halibut. I ended up snagging a bat ray luckily it wasn’t big. I tried jigging one other spot but I ended up snagging a different kind of ray not sure what it was. So after that I decided to go back to trolling went all the way down to Marshals worked the general area I caught fish last week for no luck. I hooked something on a big hammer but it came off.

I didn’t see any other post for the 14th. How’d you guys do? I have an older outback that’s tan with a blue and white ice chest on the back.  Same with my friend that was fishing with me minus the ice chest.  I saw a couple other fish caught on boats nothing huge but mostly keepers just big enough.

This is the only pic I took of the fish and it was more of a picture of my dog. I’ll have to take some better pictures next time.

Started fishing about 8:00 just south of Hog. Caught a few shiners and anchovies for bait. My friend ended up catching two short halibut. I hook a huge bat ray that towed me around which was fun for awhile. Then an angle shark which was the end of my live bait. Switched to a green/silver flasher and tray anchovies. Trolled down two Marshals which payed off with two keepers. We were off the water at 4:30.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Favorite lures for rockfish

Thank you guys for all the suggestions. I thought about going yesterday but ended up going to Tomales. Wasn’t sure if the forecast was good enough for a newbie to be out on the ocean.

I’m hoping in the next couple weeks to finally get out and give rockfishing a try. If anyone has some go to lures and or rigs I’d appreciate the help.

Introductions / Hooked

I picked up an older Hobie a little over a month ago, went to Tomales a couple times through August and had a blast! Before the Hobie I had a wildernesses systems pungo that Id use for duck hunting and occasionally go stripper fishing with it. Looking forward to a couple calm days to give rock fishing a try.
