For Sale / Re: FS: Kokatat Tempest dry pants size L - $90

Ok, I measure the neoprene belt part at 37" relaxed, but it's stretchy, and you want it to close it up tight with the attached velcro. On me that part starts above my navel. The fabric below seems to be about 44-45".  When I got these I wore size 38 pants, the fit was good, and from what I remember had a little room for me to bigger.

The fit could be ideal for you or it could be a little too snug, depending on height maybe. My guess, if you're 6'2" an XL would be better, 6'0" or less probably this one, 6'1" I don't know. Maybe someone else can chime in with their experience? You're welcome to come by and try them on.

For Sale / FS: Kokatat Tempest dry pants size L - $90

I wore these a few times but don't really use them, so I thought I'd pass them on.

These are dry pants, essentially waders with a velcro top you can seal around your middle and/or mate with a dry top to minimize water entry. If you're not familiar with these you can search the forums to see what people say. Lots of folks like them.

Kokatat says size L is for 5'10" to 6'2", 175-200 lbs. I'm 6' tall and the size L fit great at both 195 and 180 lbs.  The velcro chest is pretty adjustable so there might be a little wiggle room on the weight window.

I'm in Berkeley.

Edited to add: anyone can text me at 213-458-3175.

SOLD SOLD SOLD!

Apologies if double post. I don't see it coming up and I think it might not have liked the attached pics. Will post pics as a reply to this topic.

For sale: my Hobie Revolution kayak.

I hate to do it... but I need a chunk of cash. And I just haven't taken it out as much as I'd like to.

Bought in the Fall of 2008, it was a demo model from California Canoe and Kayak. Nice condition, just ordinary wear, no problems. Bright orange color so you don't get run down on the ocean.

Upgraded to Turbo fins. I never did drill any holes in the hull.

The drive is the mixed v1/v2 from 2008, with the redesigned drums.
Mirage drive seating is the old style drop-in kind, but seats firmly and reliably. I've paid close attention to it and it's always been solid.

Kayak hull carefully stored outside covered by a tarp. Other parts stored in the basement. Drive and kayak always cleaned well after trips. Taken out a couple times this last month on some easy pedals and everything is working well.

Comes with Hobie seat, paddle, mirage drive, and kayak hull.

I'm in Berkeley. Come by, or I might be able to deliver somewhere, for gas money.

Feel free to ask any questions, here or in PMs.

I can list it on Craigslist, but I thought I'd give the NCKA first shot at it at a decent price. Maybe next year I can get myself another Revolution here. Or this one back, heh heh.

Great kayak, I'll miss it! Yours for $1180.

Excellent! Glad some people had a use for this.

Doesn't Costco have a very generous return policy?

edit: nice lookin' fillets

Looks like Foodsaver has a 50% off online code right now, which can be combined with existing sale prices.

Details and discussion here.

http://slickdeals.net/f/4779338-FoodSaver-V2840-Gourmet-Starter-Kit-Foodsaver-System-16-Freeze-n-Steam-Bags-11x16-Roll-2-11x10-Rolls-2-qt-Container-w-Cheese-Grater-12-Liq-Block-Bags-50-Free-Shipping?

These might go fast. When slickdeals finds something good, people pile in.

That Gourmet Starter Kit that's $50 (instead of $200) will look like it's out of stock on their website, because the default black color is out of stock. Change the color to white. Or just follow the link from the slickdeals post. GONE. There are a couple of other kits on sale, like a Gamesaver Premium Outdoorsman Kit that was $350 but is $99 with the promo code.

Dang, almost makes me wish I didn't already have one (or, uh, three I guess).

Oh wait, here's something for me--$25 off if you order 5 pouch/bag refills. (No 50% off though). 5 refill rolls come to $38 with tax. Free shipping plus they toss in 12 Liquid Block quart bags.

Late to this party, but I'm interested.

General Talk / Re: love my Tilia Foodsaver
« on: April 20, 2010, 03:57:59 PM »
I love mine, frozen fish and meat keep much better.  The machines and bags seem strangely expensive,  but it's worth it (and I'm a big cheapskate).

I also have occasional trouble with a bad seal.  The bag looks good at first but doesn't stay tight.  It's hard to put fish or meat in the bags without getting some moisture on the opening, and hard to get it perfectly dry and clean.  I've started using the heating strip to put a double seal on the loose ends of the bag.  It's fussy but worth a try I figure.

Casey7, I'm intrigued that the older models are better quality.  Let me know if you feel like selling one...
