People with motors on their kayaks are welcome to register, but they can't win.  Human powered or sails only, as per the rules.  I've attached them here, and all the registration materials are attached to the first post in this thread.

It's not official yet, but it's 99.99% sure that there will be no salmon season along California this year - neither sport nor commercial.  This is the right move for the fish, and it's well supported across diverse groups.

In other news, it looks like we're 99.99% assured of having Pacific halibut open for GS (opens May 1).

There have been a good number of Pacifics caught during the GS weekends in the past.  The largest was a 51.5"/60 pounder caught by Randall/Bigfoot back at GS6.  A whole group helped Bigfoot land the beast on a super flat and sunny Sunday after the tourney.  I remember hearing that it had 4 gaffs in it at one point. 

Other big Pacifics caught at GS, off the top of my head:

Domenic at GS3, pre-fishing.  This was a surprise for almost everyone, as we didn't really figure to see one come in.  We quickly came to know better.

Big Terry brought one in to clearly and decisively win - what GS was that?!  An early one...  The fish was about 48", if I remember correctly.

Derrick on tourney day at GS6.

Bob at GS11? - it was a tough one to lose, as it got away after being clipped.

Matt, to clearly win GS12.

I've gotta work on my master database, so I can access all of this info and the photos more easily...   

Didn’t Darius get one too or was that a non GS day?
