Office of Administrative Law - Review of Rec. Groundfish Fishing Regulations

(1/3) > >>

123engineering:
Since the Fish and Game Commission adopted the new recreational groundfish regulation on March 26, 2024, we anticipated that the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) would review it within a couple of weeks, but it is taking much longer. I am starting to get worried that we might not be able to go nearshore rockfishing on May 1st.  I checked the OAL website, https://oal.ca.gov/proposed-regulations/,  this morning to check on the status, but it only shows as "Proposed Regulations Under Review"  I will be checking with OAL, CDFW, and FGC for any updates.  If we don't get a positive update, we might have to take more active actions to expedite the review process.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Some of the actions we can consider are:

* Seek support for California State elected officers
* Letter and email writing to OAL, Kenneth Pogue (Director of OAL) & Amy Tong (Secretary, Government Operations Agency)
*

Paul

The Gopher:
Thanks for the update, 123. Hopefully they get to it any day now.
