After buying this beauty 5 years ago. I am finally getting her put together. Put a lot of work in to her the past 7 months. Life is busy and putting a boat together can be put on the back burner but I'm shooting to have her on the water in the next couple months. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180519/8f0aca05b38f41c748d4ecacfe24e9db.jpg)
Stripped down and sanded on the inside.

Bed lined and ready for seat, console and motor.

2012 90Hp XL that I covered to a long shaft

Center console that is still in the works
I will post more pictures as I finish things up and start to get the boat put together.

That's Slick-Looking!!
Bushy

Very nice looking and can’t wait to see final look!
-
That looks like some really clean work.
Love the motor stand.
-
That things gonna fly with a 90hp on it!
Did you have to modify the splashwell to mount it up? Mine has a jackplate that i wanna get rid of but havent felt like going through the hassle of opening it up and reglassing it all to mount the bottom bolts.

Did not have to modify anything. The 2012 Honda has the same bolt pattern as the old 90 that was on the boat. The Honda is only about 60-70 pounds heavier then the old 100hp which is the Max rating for the boat.

One reason it's taking so long. Cut every peace by hand and changing things along the way... only thing left is to weld it all up cut holes for doors fishing finder VHF radio switch panels and ignition switch.

And now I am finally ready to send it off to get powered coated. Huge step forward.

Looks sweet. I'm so jelly. You should consider having bumpers made to pad those sharp corners. One wave, sand bar or backing off the throttle too quickly could result in a nasty injury.

I have already thought about that and when I get it finished that will be addressed.

Loves me a Boston Whaler, yours is looking really nice! I hope to see both you and the boat on the water someday!

Thanks man. My console is at the powered coat shop as we speak. Boat is being painted end of this week. Should have the boat and console by the end of next week. So hopefully in 3 or 4 weeks it should be ready for the water.

Nice clean job!
What year is the hull? I had a 72' Nauset. The last year of the old hardwood center consoles. i ended up tearing the whole console apart, sanding it down to bare wood and epoxying every piece before I put it back together.
Make sure you secure that console to the hardwood slats that are set in the foam hull. Otherwise it won't stay attached for long. :smt013
Do you have all the rails for it too?
Good luck and keep up the good work! I can't wait to see the final product.

The only fault I ever have seen with a whaler skiff is the bow, in humble opinion, it tends to act like a scoop if you are in sets that have short intervals. About 4 years ago while trying to troll for salmon out at HMB I had a Whaler (about 15 foot I think) pass me on my Hobbie (non peddle), they weren't going hell bent for leather but were moving at a decent clip, it was a short interval day, but not with large waves, and he caught a wave just right in the bow, I swear if he scooped up a gallon he scooped up 50 gallons. I think he should of throttled back in that crap. His bilge pump was working overtime that day. But being a whaler, it just kept going.

Been there in my buddies 2013 17 footer 2 years ago. But we took way more then 50 gallons. The transom was about 3 inches under water had water coming in my 12inch extra tuffs and we were taking water over the port side. But like you said the whaler kept going. Had to hand bail water to help the pump out. In no time the back of the boat was above the water again. Never once did the boat feel like it was going to capsize. But man what an experience! Definitely makes you a believer in why whaler is one of the best.

But I hit a hiccup along the way. Broke a bone in my hand. So kayak fishing is out of the question for me for 6 weeks. Unfortunately I will have no kayak fishing reports for a while.

This is my dream boat as well. That's why I'm doing all this work to the boat. I have a little history boat. I use to do the maintenance to the trailer for the old guy that owned it. He eventually sold the boat and trailer to me for 1,500 dollars. I got very lucky with this boat.

The boat is rated 100hp. This 90 is about 50lbs heavier then a 1975 100hp and is lighter then the 90 mercury that was on the boat be for I had it.

Well the maiden voyage was a success!! Not one issue. Top speed with the prop that is on it right now was 37.5mph. Hole shot was unbelievable half of boat length maybe and she was on top. Well today was the first actual fishing trip out of the whaler. Girlfriend caught the only fish of the day. The boat was a blast to fish out of! All the hard work and time has paid off. I love this boat! The girlfriend and the dog liked it too!

Man, what a nice boat! Congrats!
Did you have the rails already, or were they made for the boat? Asking because I have a Livingston and would love to get some rails on it.
I had the rails. The front rail is customized. The old man that owned the boat be for me had that done.
