That's a great deal for your CK. I know you can sell it fast on AT.

ProComp gets my vote. Pick Emerson's brain before you buy any accessories. You'll be ahead of the game with your new setup. With lots of practice you won't be far behind from the top guns at Redding. Looking forward in seeing your new target bow. First amongst our crew. Good luck G-Whiz.

Frank, PM me when you're going on a Monday. I miss surf-perching.

Could any one describe the set up for perch fishing?  How long a rod do you need, what line weight, how you rig the bottom....weight on end of line, or off dropper..., and hook size.  How far out do you cast..beyond the breaker, or in between the last 2 waves?   I'd really like to try it on the Marin/Sonoma coast.
Thanks

Here a writeup from Hippo...

It's been a long while since I fished the surf. My wife loves those silvery-scaled critters. I used to fish em with my 7wt fly rod. One time I hooked and landed a 25lb striper while perching at Halfmoon Bay.

It's a alot of fun but pay good attention to the surf. Rip currents can be sneaky.

Reading the wind shifts...

This is a tough one, Scott. And coincidentally that was what I tried yesterday and it worked. One drawback though is it's a little stressfull keeping watch of the wind shift all the time to get to point b the fastest.

Also tried one big tack, multiple small tacks, and combination of both. The latter worked well for me. Is it ideal? Or back again to reading the wind shift? I guess I need more clinics and spend more time on the water. BTW, when are we going to have on-the-water self-rescue/recovery clinic?

My piggy-back loading method....

Show us the details on the next clinic. I'm pretty sure it will be beneficial.

Mel, your sticker on your AI should now say "sailingaddict" rather than "fishingaddict". 15 knots was a true blast. I wonder how it would feel at 20 knots.

Pat, if it really is a gallon you may have a problem with your hatch gasket. Less than a quart on a full day on choppy waters sounds normal to me, as Chuck pointed out the sources. And, I always check if the hatch covers sit tight. You know what.... Windwalker sounds good to me. I tried different ways on getting from point a to point b and I guess yesterday I found a "way" that works for me.

Gotta do it again!

I like Pat's idea. Wind and tide timing.
