General Talk / Re: Has anyone had kayak inspected for quagga mussels?

Kayak is not suppose to have a motor

I have read all the replies and yes all good info to be aware of. Some very well written answers
But yes you can fish from a WW boat but depends on the WW boat

Every one please think. Before these fancy fishing kayaks came about all fishing was out of sit inside kayaks. Think Eskimo ?
Then we got Rec kayaks big tug boats that were safe but slow but fun to fish from
Then along came fast sea kayaks and sure enough you could fish from
My first exposure was a sea kayak and had a bar on it to hold the rod and stuff
But only fishing for smaller fish, large. And all fun
Things get better with time
Having done both WW and sea kayaking, My next kayak is going to be a sea kayak made for rock garden paddling and using my old tool bar. Very stable, can get to fishing grounds fast. Only fishing for smaller fish type thou.
His orig post was a TEST ? He will learn from that and based on what he wants to do in the future make some decisions . We all started at the bottom and learned along the way.

That rack style I think was developed for white water kayaks. WW kayaks are Shorter and a lot lighter

Under water fishing kinda was a fad for awhile
www.scubastick.com
They made a 2 ft stick that extended to 4 ft
Was fun and a great conversation starter on club dives
Out of production ? Only special order I believe
Search for scuba stick and videos pop up but cant find a good picture
I have one and tried it in salt water, and found spear gun easier
Better for fresh water

After my last trip to Florida fishing deep I am going Elec
After couple hours cranking that much, elec is nice
They do make small elec and large. Seems more smaller being produced? Lately
They do have a time and place to use compared to other tackle

Interesting info on PFD styles
? as I look at all the stuff folks are carring in vest I have a big question.
PFD are only rated for certain amount of buoyancy. So personal weight really needs to be considered. Now add to the equation the weight of all the stuff carried in PDF. Will you still be buoyant ??
Don't want to seem like a party pooper but the larger and heavier you are this really comes into the equation.
Yes if your wearing a dry suit or wet suit you will have a little more buoyancy. But street clothes become weight when wet? need to add that to equation IMO
May be time to jump in pool and test your set up ????????? Cheers

I thought wales needed deep water to travel??
Most Rec trapping in shallower water IMO ???
So why not just stated no pots in water over a certain depth??
They just over rode all rules with there declaration ???
Don't think common sense prevailed in this decision ???????

Got my vote good luck
