Hello kayak fishermen, I just joined the board after getting my first kayak a month ago, a West Marine pompano 12. I have plenty of rowing and boating experience and I decided to enter the fray with a fishing kayak. I finally got it outfitted with a tackle box with rod holders attached, a milk crate out back in case of keepers, and a Piranhamax fishfinder. I got a Scotty extension for the rod holder so it doesn't hit my ankles. I have been out to New Brighton, Mile Buoy, and Pleasure Point. No real awesome fish to report, unfortunately. I'm looking forward to some good times on the water.

Welcome aboard, Manresa.  The real awesome fish will come in time.  Until then look for other awesome things and experiences and interactions with people and with Nature, and you'll find them more and more.  Right about when you've forgotten that you're really intent on getting a real awesome fish is when you're most likely to score it.

See you soon.  Here.  With that real awesome fish.  Or at least an awesome experience to share.  Best of luck.   :smt001
