Last Monday there were a ton of locals and others trolling the s-'-- out of the WG area.  A few Fish have been caught.  Supposedly a monster hen was caught by a bankie in WG last Sunday.  Heading up again tomorrow  for a few days beyond the weekend.

Those damn cards caused me more headaches when I was working as an elementary principal.  Theft, out during class time, parents actually complaining that their kids were swindled in trades.  I just confiscated whenever they appeared, and the parents had to come get them.  Now those kids are reliving their childhoods electronically.

I have never heard of it being restricted.  That would be one helluva long restriction 7/16 until early December.

Heng.  Beats the shit out of the expensive, complicated Di Cor stuff.  Prepping the roof is most important.  One step with Heng.  Done two RV'S with it.  It kicks ass.

Trolled the late pm incoming.  No love.  Talked to Fishaholic, on the dock in WG.  He had nothing when I talked to him.  Marked 5/6 Fish in WG Marina, Georgiana Slough area.  Nothing at Ryde or at Isleton Bridge.  There's a few coming through, but we need a big school to set off some action.  Will be out on the Adventure tomorrow for Stripers, Smallies, but will run FF keeping an eye on what might be coming through.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Summer 2016: Which VHF?
« on: July 28, 2016, 10:52:03 AM »
I carry a handheld GPS in my vest along with a tethered VHF.  A GPS on your ff does you no good if you get separated from your yak.  I have to agree about the hx 850/870 being very complicated with so many features.  Mine has worked fine but it is huge.  My iCom m73  is comfy sized and has lasted for+ yrs.

Don't register them.  Make them "featureless", or get a Patriot Mag Release from Bullet Button.com, and keep them out of the NEW CA definition of assault weapon.

General Talk / Re: Access point to Snodgrass Slough and Lost Slough

Supposedly the launch to the north side of the Cross Channel Gates in Walnut Grove is open.  You can get to Snodgrass from there.  Take gravel road behind closed propane outfit, bear left.  Launch, then park car out by the gates NOT at the launch.  This was discussed in earlier post. Deltayakr may know more.
On another note, am launching CRP tomorrow,  and ending at my trailer 3 miles south of Walnut Grove.  Spotties, smallies with be target.

My son/hunting partner signed my tag last year.  Captain, Cal-Fire.  Cool to have this option.  He just can't sign his own.
