A picture says a thousand words...

It's my daughter's kayak that I've had for several years and since it hasn't seen much use, it's time to let it go.

I don't have an extra paddle but will include a nice seat with backrest.

Shoot me a PM if interested.

General Talk / Big Hammer Question
« on: October 03, 2014, 10:29:39 AM »
I'm planning to hit the salt soon (i hope) and wanted to try using swim baits for rocks and lings.

I ordered some 4 oz lead heads (8/0 hook) on ebay and now I'm trying to decide on plastics.

What size do you guys prefer?  5" or 6.5"?  Keep in mind that I'll be using a fairly large lead head.

Oh, and any color suggestions would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance,
Stuart

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / September Verms!
« on: November 11, 2013, 07:21:05 PM »
Better late then never.......

I forgot to post a couple of fishing reports from September.  Gotta love how fall brings out the color!
Fuzz and I hit the salt and caught some reds.  18  verms, a chunky copper and big olive that was a little too fat to let go.  Oh, and a ling for good measure.

The surf was up a bit on the way in and I took a bath, but it was a small price to pay.
It was nearly epic, but a truly epic trip would have been 20 reds.

So we went back in a week and half with high hopes.  Big blue didn’t disappoint and delivered the goods.  Red was dead, and everything else got a hall pass.

Mission accomplished, epic trip in the books.

For Sale / Quitting the sport.... Everything must go sale.......

Retiring from diving and selling my 70CM Rob Allen (stickers removed and replaced w/ the NCKA ling logo) and SL4 Dive light for $125.

The band was changed within the past year by the world famous Fuzz.

This steel slinger has been lightly used, but the few times its been underwater, it brought me luck.  RF, lings and butts have all met their maker due to this instrument of death.  Big ones and little ones, it doesn't discriminate, it just kills......

The SL4 light has only been used a few times and is like new.

If you ask me to break it up and only want the gun, no problem.  The price will be $130  :smt003

Located in San Jose.

Below are some pics:

It's the gun on the left (but if you can' tell the difference between a RA and an Omer, you probably shouldn't be spearing.....)

Did I mention it's very accurate too......

For Sale / Utility Trailer for Sale $400
« on: October 04, 2012, 11:08:17 AM »
I purchased this trailer new ~ 5 years ago.
It's always been garaged and is in great shape.  On average, I've used it twice a year, so it's been on the road around a dozen times.  Primarily Tahoe and the Sonoma coast.

But it's time to get my garage back.

If you have mad skillz, it can be transformed into this one built by our very own Tote (I'm pretty sure it's the same model):

Thank you O2B!!!  If not for you, I'd still be turkeyless.....

Chuck, my daughter Sydney and I visited Allen’s house, but he was up at GS4.

We parked in the dark and waited for daylight.  Since we didn’t know where or how the birds would act, the plan was to wait for daylight, locate the birds, establish a blind/ambush spot, then call them in.  But while we were BS’ing in the van, they suddenly appeared in the middle of the road and closing in on us FAST.  CRAP! We stuck in the van, with birds about 15 yards away.  Too make a long story short, I made the call to exit the van and try to get a shot, but they ran away quickly and neither of us were able to get a shot.

Time for plan B. Chuck and I decided to split up.  I walked the levee with Sydney, looking for a good ambush spot.  After waiting a while, with no sign of the birds, Syd and I decided to walk back.

As we were walking back on top of the levee, I spotted a bird next to the creek, hunkered down.  I kept walking until I hit some cover, then told me daughter to freeze as I nocked an arrow.  I walked backwards, looking away from the bird.  Then I stopped, drew and guessed 25 yards before releasing.
Feathers flew and the bird started flopping around. It seemed like a good hit.

But then it dropped into the creek so I nocked another arrow and got a solid hit, which looked like it anchored it down.  So I backed away and waited about 3 minutes for the thrashing to stop.  My heart was pounding.  So far it was a surreal experience.

Too many emotions were running through my mind.

After what felt like a long time, it was done, so I charged down to the creek and grabbed it by the neck.  The arrow penetrated the chest and pinned it down.  I pulled the bird through the arrow, then pulled the arrow out of the water/mud.

Woohooo!!!

Sent a pic to a good friend who’s first words were “Roadkill??”  Thanks Fuzz!

Definitely not the prettiest picture, but a proud moment nonetheless.

I brined the breast fillets for 24 hrs and grilled it to perfection.  Tender, moist and delicious!!

For Sale / VHF radio F/S - Uniden Voyager
« on: November 27, 2009, 03:09:42 PM »
I believe this is the SMALLEST hand held VHF radio.  I purchased it new this summer and only took it out twice.  It’s like new.
I have the box, all the paper work including the 3 yr warranty registration card, charging cradle and car charger.

My other VHF is working fine, so I don't need this one.

On Amazon and ebay, the lowest price is $140 plus shipping.

I’ll sell this for $85.  Located in San Jose.  Shoot me a PM if interest.

I really wanted to hit the north coast today, but late last night, I decided to sleep in and go to work instead.

Things were slow and I was itching to get wet, so I left work early and decided to check out the perc ponds.

Didn't see any reds, but ran across this little fellow.  Unfortunately, the big one got away unscathed.
