One more day at the Cove before I haul my truckloads of gear and goodies back home. I'll take some time to download photos and get caught up on life (and sleep). For now:
Huge Congrats to Kyle Monte / Midwest for his well earned victory and crowning as Angler of the Day for GSXVIII. He brought in a 37 inch lingcod and a 21 inch vermillion to secure the victory by several inches over 2nd place Kendall Cobine and Adam Dunaway in 3rd. Potluck, Taco Shack, Shuland and the entire weekend vibe was off the hook. I can't overstate how wonderful it was to be with the community again. I really didn't realize how much I've missed putting on the event and engaging with the people. Big thanks to Brandi for another outstanding Gyotaku event on Sunday. Big thanks to everyone for bringing so much love and joy to the Cove. 4

Extreme whitecaps had me smiling ear to ear, as I know the forecast is so highly in our favor. Count your blessings and sharpen those barbless hooks, folks! 13

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Lost Coast - 5/3/24« on: May 04, 2024, 05:21:23 PM »Quote from: JoeDubC What are your favorite recipes for RF vs Lingcod? (not details, just general) For years I was a deep fryer. I still am - egg/milk/worcestershire, then a mix of panko and Italian bread crumbs. More often in the past few years the family has asked for pan fried, with just a little oil and spices on the meat. Either one makes great tacos, but I probably do still prefer the crunchy fried bits in a taco. Tacos tonight! 15
