I don't get it...  Which is better?  Bait tube or tank?  Also, won't the tube creat drag?

Sorry I don't have any pictures of my tube but it pretty much looks like yours Mooch. ABS with a bunch of holes in it. I agree that the tubes are awesome for sardines, smelt, shiners etc. etc.  but I do think the bait tank has it's place if you are fishing live chovies.

In my experience the chovies don't last very well in a bait tube. I wouldn't bring the bait tank out on the ocean much but for pounding sand in the sf bay or monterey for halibut with a small scoop of chovies I think the bait tanks are hard to beat.

Have any of you had success with anchovies in a bait tube? I think my tube is 4" diameter maybe another size works better?
