General Talk / Re: How often do you wash your outerwear?« on: April 22, 2024, 03:02:55 PM »
It's not recommended but I wash my fishing clothes which includes wetsuit, undershirt, mid layer, windbreaker jacket in the washer with soap on sanitary cycle after each trip and I rinse off and hang dry my waterproof paddling jacket and booties.

General Talk / Re: I've Gone Strapless« on: April 17, 2024, 01:59:59 PM »Interesting setup. Do you think you could use it like the Thule Outrigger or Yakima Boatloader Evo to help in loading the boat? Extend the outside bar/rack all the way, lean the nose of the kayak onto it and then lift the rear up? I couldn't tell how far out it can extend. I've tried it but the arm was not long enough but I've seen some on using a long bar by inserting where the arms go it and using it as a assist. I'll be looking for a metal bar that's going to fit. 7
General Talk / Re: I've Gone Strapless« on: April 17, 2024, 01:56:48 PM »If you go strapless, and start bouncing up and down, the kayak will pop out eventually. Just sayin... When you push the arms in it also puts downward pressure. I find it more secure than the straps. 8
General Fishing Tips / Re: mm thickness for farmer john style wetsuit« on: April 16, 2024, 07:50:12 PM »
When I first started I wore 7mm farmer john which I used to wear for ab diving. It was 2 piece wet suit, farmer john and top. Even without the top it felt restrictive so I got a 3mm nrs farmer john.

General Talk / Re: I've Gone Strapless« on: April 16, 2024, 07:43:12 PM »Go Moo Go! Nobody's takin' a sawzall to it and I hope the bad guys don't figure some of these things out. Loved the vid. I kinda like the hooks on the top but you're saying my discontinued version holds a wider yak? Either way, see ya on da wattah'! Not necessarily the width but the height. They were saying it's hard to fit Hobie PA because of the height on my version. 10
General Fishing Tips / Re: Neoprene Wrist Gasket Replacement« on: April 15, 2024, 09:28:09 PM »I was extremely reluctant to get a drysuit, as I've always had issues with latex rubber gloves. If I put on latex gloves, my hands turn red and skin gets itchy, and worse. So, when I got my first drysuit, I was planning on replacing the wrist gaskets, but miraculously, the latex wrist gaskets on my Kokatat (semi)drysuit don't seem to bother my skin. I did see the silicone gasket but they are pricey for just the jacket. Maybe I'll try the silicone for my future semi dry suit. 11
General Fishing Tips / Re: Neoprene Wrist Gasket Replacement« on: April 15, 2024, 09:26:08 PM »The NRS Champion Jacket comes with neoprene wrist gaskets. I own one and really like them. I have a kokotat tempest jacket. I really like the jacket except the latex gasket. 12

After seeing Eddie's LockRack, I wanted to try it out for myself.
I've used it for 2 trips. Both trips involving freeways speed and very windy road. So far it's working flawlessly. I had to put extra padding down for my AI for better fit due to the hull shape but for my stealth and my poor man's tarpon 120 (upside down), it's perfect. 13
General Fishing Tips / Re: Neoprene Wrist Gasket Replacement« on: April 15, 2024, 06:37:12 PM »The NRS Champion Jacket comes with neoprene wrist gaskets. I own one and really like them. It's a good looking jacket. Unfortunately I cannot return my jacket and I want to learn how to replace the gasket hehe. 14
General Fishing Tips / Re: Neoprene Wrist Gasket Replacement« on: April 15, 2024, 01:38:08 PM »Try this one: https://expressdrysuitrepair.com/repair-services Thank you. I don't see the neoprene wrist gasket for sale on the website but since they do neoprene replacement service I'll ask them if they are willing sell me a pair. 15
