truth
I looked and escaped those stick bait offerings barely.  Great deal but why?  I’m glad I couldn’t understand the sku numbers so I bailed…phew..:use what you got… :smt006

Good man   :smt006

I got a couple of those..... 4 and 6 inch not sure what color pattern hoping one is the sardine type. Course never used a stick bait before but seen it done on U-tube (oh and so shiny!) :smt044

Craftsmen's Corner / Re: Maker motivation. Greenland Paddle

I had a White (Port Orford) Cedar kayak paddle a family friend made to go with a half scale dory my stepfather and I made when I was a kid. P.O.C is light and strong, second best would probably be Yellow (Alaskan) Cedar. Both woods are nice to work similar to pine. Red Cedar is much harder to work and not as strong.

Love it, looks almost done already. You going to shape it to the pencil line? Belt sander and a steady hand could do that.

Looking forward to seeing this in person, I need an extra paddle and like making stuff.

Awesome deal, I paid way more a long time ago and am still 100% satisfied with these wheels.
Ye'ah.  Why buy an extra cuz they're cheap...oh so tempting...should be gone by now...I'm recalling my PPP paid for the the 1st pair... :smt007 :smt006

Extra set ....would be set for life.

So tempting.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Monterey 10/16

Nice report!

Interesting fish, never encounter one of those let us know how it eats.

I like the Daiwa Sealine Surf in 9' or 10' for rockfish and snaring crabs from the shore. You could catch a perch with it but it's really too big and heavy for that application. It's also a bit light for snares but it can be done.

If you burn it just right it's all good to eat!

Oh yeah that's the stuff, I prefer it skin on and grilled/burnt so it's a little bitter topped with daikon and shoyu. This is also great with sardines and other oily bait fish, good for the fishery and good for you!

Oh, my. I’ve had dinner, I’m not hungry, but my mouth started watering!  :smt007

Right?

And actually I enjoyed the sugary brined and smoked herring in March even more than the grilled mackerel.

That guy...

Serious fisherman, ran into him on the water earlier this year fishing halibut commercial.

Sick!

I have never caught a quillback from the San Mateo Coast on down.

Bushy

+1. On another note,  caught quite a few of Coppers on almost every trip this year.

I also have never caught (or seen) a Quillback anywhere......because I like to fish for near shore rockfish typically in 50' or less.

Seems stupid to force people to fish in deeper water to protect a fish that probably lives primarily there and will have a harder time returning to considering the depths.
