Individual tickets - $100
Table for eight - $750
Table for Ten - $900

After May 1
Individual tickets - $125
Table for eight - $850
Table for Ten - $1000

I wanted to share this awesome upcoming event with the NCKA crew! It could be fun for some of ya to go in on tables and have a little reunion while supporting salmon and maybe even winning some great prizes. They have a silent auction, live auction with auctioneer and auction girls, and a pretty epic raffle! They will be auctioning off fishing trips like a couple spots on Reel Obsession with Captain Ty, a full 6 pack on Warrior Poet, full charters on Salty Lady and Hog Heaven, + mushroom hunt with Dylan Taube, Scotty Downriggers, flyfishing trips, Alaska cabin, other destination prizes, and more. The silent auction will have fun experiences, tickets, wine/beer/beverage packages, and fishing/outdoor gear. There will be 3 tables full of raffle prizes geared towards anglers complete with fishing rods/reels and Amadeo artwork each table with their own bucket to pick and choose what you want your raffle tickets to go to. And my favorite part.. there will be a $100 raffle to win an Old Town Salty PDL kayak and they are selling a max of 100 tickets! They also have a separate $100, $300, and $500 raffle each with their own stellar prize! There will be great local BBQ and an open bar! It's a great opportunity to get involved and support salmon. GSSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit so your table, raffle tickets, auction wins, and any donations are a 100% tax write off. We still are in need of donations for the auctions and raffles so if you want to donate or know someone who might want to donate, please let me know. You can also contact GSSA directly at 855.251.4472 or Cat@goldenstatesalmon.org. Hope to see some of you there!

Pro-choice for this one

Should be able to throw the non native fish back if you want or keep them if you want. I can see a slot limit for sturgeon who’s females aren’t sexually mature until 10-15 but a striper can reproduce at 4-5 years and then they don’t die after they spawn like salmon so they can pump their big dog genes up to 4 or so more times. They grow fast and there’s plenty of them out there.

Makes no sense to protect these fish just because the sport fishermen like to target them. Gunna end up with a bunch of big girls belly up because they aren’t even a hardy fish after a fight.

Bad news, surgery was cancelled. I am officially super upset and depressed.  Gotta watch out for my mental health,  I was pretty upbeat before the news.

You are in my thoughts as you navigate your healing journey. This breaks my heart you are going through this. I can imagine you will have some extremely difficult days ahead but I am a believer that time heals and eventually you will get better physically and mentally. I hope you are able to stay in good spirits despite the curveballs and obstacles that come your way. I believe humans are tremendously resilient and our bodies have the wisdom to heal. I tell myself this every morning as I'm navigating my own little health issue that is in no way as traumatic as what you are going through. I'm not sure if you're a spiritual person at all, but I've recently started meditating in the morning and start my day by saying 8 positive affirmations. Dr Joe Dispenza has a book called Becoming Supernatural and it might be worth listening to on audible or checking out some of his podcasts and YouTube videos. If this is not your thing, I get it. Just wanted to put it out there because it's helped me get out of a pretty dark place and I think it could be beneficial to your healing process. Hang in there, brother. You got this!

Kayak Diving and Spearfishing / Re: Looking for Dive Buddies

Check out watermans alliance urchin removal group on Facebook! It’s the only dive events I know still consistently happening through Covid. They don’t have any scheduled now but I’m sure they will soon. They mostly go to Caspar but sometimes ocean cove and Albion as well. That’s one option to meet some really cool dive buddies!

Recipes / Re: Ikijime upgrade
« on: August 02, 2021, 07:39:03 PM »
I was just about to start a new post and am so glad I saw this one before I did. Looks like Eddie and others have been doing this for a while which is so freaking cool.

I would like to share my friends and family discount code for Ike Jime brain spikes and shinkei jime wires ...Use ANNIEIKEJIME at checkout for 25% off for a limited time at The Ike Jime Federation Pro Shop. After that, (likely next month) they will be available where AFTCO products are sold and online at www.aftco.com.

iCast 2021 had some innovative and impressive fishing products but the one that stole the show for me was the AFTCO X The Ike Jime Federation Circuit Breaker, a tool for spinal cord destruction. Getting the opportunity to learn directly from Andrew Tsui, President of the Ike Jime Federation, opened my eyes to why this practice is so important, especially for people like me and Nick who enjoy eating and cooking our fish almost as much as we do catching it. It only takes a little extra TLC at the time of catch, killing the fish more quickly and effectively, which in turn yields better quality meat and longer shelf life for our fillets.

The Japanese slaughter practice consists of this four-step process; 1. Spiking the brain ("ike jime") 2. Cutting the gills and bleeding the fish ("exsanguination") 3. Destroying the spinal cord with Circuit Breaker ("shinkei jime") 4. Submerging fish in 50/50 ice and water slurry...

Here's a informative YouTube video that explains the Ike Jime process and the results: .

Polepole bogarted the Lings, catching his limit while the rest of us failed to get any.

What?  I bagged a limit of lings and I wasn't even there.  Who was this imposter?   :smt004

-Allen

I think a safe guess would be Ariel Cuna... When he's not pretending to be Virginia he is pretending to be you!!! LOL
