Anyone fishing the PX? Is it worth the extra $40-50? Might have to go that route since the 7’ml is hard to come by. Any other rods that are as good or better than the trevala?

I found a few online. Being it is a 7’ one piece rod that it may be better to pick up in person.

I have both the orginal 66M and the PX version.  I feel like the PX is a bit lighter in weight, and the action is very similar.  Other than that, the PX does look cooler.

The only thing about the px is the weird split handle. Not sure how I feel about that….lol

I like the harrier x. Wish they made a ML. Not sure if the M would be on the heavy side.

How’s the rod tips on those rods, I really like a soft tip for the top half and a stiff bottom half...

It’s soft enough for me but not noodley.  I use it for halibut trolling and also RF jigging.
I really like my 6’4 Harrier ML but wish they made it a 7’0 ML.  The 7’0 M length is nice but rod slightly stiffer, just lightly noticeable.  The Harrier X are nice because they have the foregrip making it easier when fighting big carpets or LSD induced fish.

Hopefully I can track one down and check them out. Read of some reels not working with the Diana reel seat on the none x models. The X models have all Fuji hardware. It’s blue so it matches my Abu reel. Lol.
Very interested, just don’t want to fish with a stiff rod. Most likely I will go with the proven all around work horse Trevala 70ml.

Yes I may have to. Wifey and I are headed to Yosemite tomorrow for a few days. Think I will stop by fisherman’s warehouse in Manteca and see what’s available.

Thanks, just placed an order a bit ago. Will feel better when it ships. Hope they have it. Lol

I played with the Harrier X, it is a bit stiff, but a nice rod none the less. With my goal of being on the lighter end of the jigging/rockfish set up I wanted to have as light as possible and still have just enough backbone to fight a large ling, salmon or Hali. My Abu c4 reel came in today. Can’t wait to get this rod and pair them up. I think they will make a perfect combo for me.

Looked like the ML model had the split grip and a short for grip. Oh well, ordered the standard rod. Will feel better when I get a shipping confirmation.
