One owner, well maintained. Paint isn’t perfect but is in decent shape, has some surface blemishes up top which I had sanded and blobbed on the paint. Black leather interior not perfect but in decent shape.

103k miles total with low miles on rebuilt engine with a new block($6500)

Low miles on Michelin tires. New battery, new starter motor and a few other things can’t remember at the moment.

I just had the stereo/CD refurbished, which is an important detail because when the stereo goes the climate control goes with it

This was our kayak and surfing vehicle and has been a great car. Has Thule wing crossbars for which I’m currently trying to locate the keys

I’m listing here because the craigslist scammers are driving me nuts

Cash only. We will either sell or keep for our teen son who will be driving in a little over a year. I was advised by our mechanic about the pricing, but will be flexible to a point

Cash only, PM me if interested

Strictly a beachmobile other than a few short vacation trips

Won’t win any beauty contests but still in decent shape black leather and all

Will try to post more pics when I get time

Situation is I want to trick it out and keep it for our son who will be driving in a year, my wife wants it gone

I bought a new one a few months back which I already have mixed feelings about

Similar situation with my CRV, except I want to keep it for myself as my dedicated fishing-mobile.

We'd been long-time Honda owners, but got tired of watching the quality deteriorate with each new car we got. So, in 2019 we made the switch and bought a Subaru Crosstrek. I'm now a big Subaru fan, and we'll never buy another Honda.

Is the price $6500?  I didn't know if you meant you spent $6500 on the engine or if that's the asking price.

May know someone interested.
I'd rather be swinging...

People knock on my door, hoping to lowball me for my 2007 Tacoma. Paint job is toast but only about 103,000 miles. It's not going anywhere.

Why the new engine?

Subaru engines were notorious for randomly blowing head gaskets and toasting the engine, known problem that I didn’t know about til it happened to our car. I changed oil religiously My coworker’s friend makes his living rebuilding older Subaru engines with aftermarket head gaskets that are better than originals. This one also got a new block

Not sure why this never became a class action lawsuit

Sorry just realized I didn’t post a price

Mechanic said if I want to sell fast on craigslist $6k, a friend and son who buy/sell cars and know this one said $7k minimum

Frankly my take on the used car market is it is nuts w prices going way over blue book, but my neighbor and a coworker just sold cars $2-3k over what they listed them. With extreme reluctance I listed this on craigslist and 30 seconds after I posted the scammers started their attack and haven’t stopped, so I’m pulling the ad

Craigslist is a zoo full of nasty animals

My worry is we will sell this one and in a year be in a pickle trying to find something for our son to drive, so I’m simultaneously listing it and thinking of ways to trick it out for him. Anybody knows anything about whether you can lift them let me know

If it sells my wife will be happy, my son and I will be sad

Yeah, I had a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, 2007 and at 99k I took it in for service, and they said the gasket had blown.  I paid for it to be fixed, and had always taken it in for services, and used premium synthetic, etc.  But after the repair, it guzzled oil like about a quart a month, but didn't find out until I went to change it 3 months later and it was not even registering on the stick.  Wont buy a Subaru ever again...  Sorry for the threadjack.

No problem on the thread jack, I was going to turn it into a Craigslist rant

Same with mine but 70 something thousand miles was driving to hmb and started hearing the valves tapping, pulled over at first gas station and oil was dry as a bone

Said I’d never buy a Subaru again, then shopped for cars to fit our needs and best fit still the Outback, plus reliability on all new cars has gone way down

I was brutally blunt with the sales guy, asked about the engine failures, he said that won’t be the problem anymore, will be the software that will give you problems now

I’m only a few months into the new one and wishing I had taken his comment more seriously

Oh no, what are these software issues?!

I also thought it was really just my 2.5i engine, but I guess others have the issues as well?  I loved that car, it was such a fun drive, although a little under powered it was a beast going up and over HWY 9 in any conditions.
