Funny, I was just about to mention the 2 strap method haha :-) When I tied those on to the Wheeleez a decade ago, it was supposed to be a temporary solution. But I’m still using it that same way after all these years. I’ve carted about 15 different taks with this thing. I can also cart my 12ft aluminum boat on it!


Good idea, I must of missed or forgot about that one.    GF and I used to double stack her yak on my old one, now we have to take two trips. But I like the idea.

I have no problems at all using a single long strap on any of my kayaks.  I use it like two straps, but double-ling it up.  Sort of hard to explain, but found this pic on the Wheeleez website.  I only do the forward strap, and never need the back strap.  By forward I mean the side with the kickstand, that always goes forward, because if you hit anything with it, it just folds in, and if not doesn't really matter.  By double-ling the strap over you get good tension on it.  I then can use the strap to yank the cart out from under the kayak by unstrapping one side, and holding both ends in one hand, lift the end of the kayak up a few inches and yank it out from underneath.  If you try and strap just the back, or try and go diagonal from front to rear, just going to have problems when it shifts.

I still had problems with the wheels when I would get off camber. With the two straps the cart ain't coming off or moving back. I loop the back strap through a carabiner hooked through one of the behind the seat pad eyes.
Maybe this just says more about the places I prefer to launch :smt005

I just stretch a single rubber bungy cord from one side of the wheel-eze fame across the top of the kayak to the other side of the frame. Works well for me, even on steep/uneven terrain. Super quick to strap and unstrap too.

+1 forward strap only needed for this application. keep it simple. :)

Well if I was going down something like an uneven narrow path, i'd use two straps.  But pulling the kayak across a parking lot, or on sand it's not usually an issue.
