Our local fb group LCKA just had an event down there. Rock fishing was good but socked in fog and swift current from the south made it tough to stay on the fish or get anywhere. We spent all saturday morning trying to make it to the whistle, picked up a few nice fish then came back and were EXHAUSTED.

Dont even drop anything in the harbor, its filthy with silvers and some kings feeding on the large school of anchovy. I tried for cali hali and thresher but couldn't find any. I would just troll some squid in the reef to catch vermillion and rockfish and keep the kings off. it was easiest to catch fish just out front were the current wasn't so bad. Make sure u have gps and backup because we were socked in.

I really want to try these, but have no experience running the cables so opted to just drill some SS screws into the drum as replacement teeth. 3 was enough to have contact with the chain at all times and its holding up great.

I received the email on July 28th regarding this rule change for Aug 7th.

I honestly haven't caught a quilback in years, but I haven't been to deep rocks in a boat in a long time either.

you can make some wiggle room by pushing the longer line in, the short end will pop out after that.

Got out to whiskey sunday morning to practice some kokenee fishing. Following your guide I found a nice school of fish and connected on 4 bites, losing that many as well.

I've been trying to use this downrigger rod I bought and just clipping a weight to the line after a setback, but in the process of unclipping the weight I seem to lose a lot of fish, still fun to score fish on that noodle tho. Thanks for all the help! Pink hoochie killed it out there.

Thanks for the tip, I didnt notice I thought the red sheath went all the way into the crimp.

Hobie cables have that exposed area that always breaks but ive been adding marine goop to them to try and protect that area.

Once my idler comes in I'll have all amazon cables on my primary 180 drive.

FYI Hoodoo idler cables DO NOT FIT the hobie 180, half inch too short!

I had a pitted track again recently that was destroying any replacement roller bearings I replaced so I considered this upgrade.

I asked my buddy about running those 180 lines and he said there was a way to tie knots in them to make running them again easier but I was hesitant to try this out.

I ended up making PVC bushings to replace the rollers and it has been working fine so far.
