General Talk / Re: Sunglasses that I highly recommend
« on: April 02, 2024, 06:37:12 PM »
Biggest problem I have is keeping them clear of salt water. I need them to see my fish finder. Need transiton readers. Always switching between sunglasses and reading glasses.
My Costco prescription sunglasses have progressive lenses. Good for distance, intermediate and reading viewing. Works great for outdoor conditions.

This is good info about sunglasses. I wear prescription glasses and checked their prices, seems  if I use Costco Optical for prescription sunglasses, price is better.

Thank you so much for providing the boundary lines. I dowloaded them to my 2 Raymarine Element FFs.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Freshwater Line Choice
« on: March 22, 2024, 09:37:02 AM »
Sweet, thanks for the advice!

I think I am on the right path - I ordered 10lb braid and 6lb flouro for leader.

Ordered a couple more lures and have some rudder lines to fix on the kayak too - should be all buttoned up in a few days and ready to hit the water again next week.  Looking forward to trying out some new stuff.

Now, if I could just get the fish to cooperate...

I use 10lb floro. Figure the lure creating drag specially with deep diving lures and the chance of hooking a 10 lber.

Congrats Buzz. I was there with a buddy and I got 3 trout about same size as your catch. Action was slower compared to my last trip.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Kayak loading on tailgate spoiler

Thanks y’all. Good advice here as usual.
I will give the Codinter device a try since it’s the simplest option. My Odyssey doesn’t have rails or hatch, so first order of business would be to install the rails and crossbars.
I’ll report when I make progress
I've tried those, it doesnt stay on all time and will slip when you put weight on it.

I added a Yakima Showboat to my roof rack. Been working great for the last 5 years.
