I prefer for everyone with PDL drives to bring the drives. Some instructors ask people to strip their kayak including their drive. I want to teach everyone in a way that you can launch and land with the drive as most likely this is how you will be using it. It is easier without the drive but you should know what to do if you have a drive and find yourself in a surf situation

The flyer is below. Call to reserve your spot. Bring your own kayak or rent one from us. We will provide all the gear necessary. Must be ready to get cold (We will provide a wetsuit). This class is not for people with any pre existing  medical conditions as cold water and hard paddling can exacerbate those conditions. We have a 250# weight limit for our kayak rentals. It is best to bring the kayak you paddle most of the time. This is an important skill to know s a kayak fisherman. Email me if you have any questions

I always call (831) 649-2883 before I go out. It will go over all the demoic acid closures due to demoic acid

We use the ICOM IC-M36 here at the shop and they are used daily. They are waterproof and they float. Super durable and have had no issues really. West MArine sells them and you can get a warranty on them through West Marine as well

Welcome! I suggest trying one out first before you completely jump into it. Many start on a non pdl drive first as you can learn a lot. If that drive fails you will need to know those paddle skills anyways. I can sell you a used scrambler XT. You can throw some flush mounts on there and start learning the ropes. Used Scramblerxt 325$. Great in the surf and stable

General Talk / Re: Ocean Whitefish!!!
« on: November 04, 2019, 08:51:13 AM »
Yes I did.  I have caught them in previous years going back about 8-10 years.  Also caught a number of Calico Bass (Always at that diving spot between the CG pier and Cannery Row kelps.) I think the incidence is on the rise.  Also, fine-scale triggerfish.  All these socal starting to get a little more common up here.

Bring on the YT and WSB!!!

Bushy

I have speared a few calicos over the shale beds but I feel as if the whitefish are on the rise. They taste great!

The stabilization on theGo Pro makes it completely worth it. It also has higher quality video and picture. Also can use it through your phone or voice function. My favorite part is wireless uploads. Just way more functionality with the go pro
