General Talk / Re: The real Hobie bungee cord
« on: May 16, 2022, 02:22:27 PM »
I've had good luck with West Marine bungee cord. It seems to hold up as well as anything from Hobie. It's expensive, though, so I just bought a big roll of this stuff, but have not yet had a chance to try it.

https://www.amazon.com/West-Coast-Paracord-Marine-4-inch/dp/B078D7GCD1?th=1

Give us an update if that amazon one is legit.
The closest one I have used was from OSH, the elasticity is 90% and UV is 80% comparing to Hobie.
The other places I bought goes bad within 1-2 years. Hobie is lasting a good 5 years.

Anyone know where to buy bungee cord? I am talking about what Hobie uses.
NRS bungee is no good and a few places I bought even amazon is not good compare to what Hobie uses.
Yes, I checked with CCK, they don't have Hobie bungee.

For Sale / Re: Hobie Island splash guard

Would it work for a 2012? What ya want for it?
I don't know if it works for your model.
If your Hobie island measure less than 52" from bow handdle to aka bar then it would work.
$50.

Splash guard for Hobie AI. It will fit 2015+ for sure.
This splash guard has hole, so water won't sit. The material is exactly as Hobie trampoline.
it measures 52" on the longer kayak side. As long as your Hobie island measure less than 52" from bow handdle to aka bar.
$50

I might be wrong, but maybe its a fuel tank for a boat?

It's a bait tank aka livewell.

Should replace rudder down line also.
That one use a lot of tension when pull tight.

5/16" is a common size. It's even used in trailer lock hitch.
Yakima longarm uses this size too.

I upgraded to the Kokatat Hydrus 3.0 Supernova Angler Semi-dry Paddling Suit last year. Total game changer. Best decision no regrets. Super comfy. Sticky zippers though.
Lube the zipper end. It will be very smooth.

… Their system punishes honesty. That’s California. [emoji867][emoji36][emoji22][emoji30]

I always try to be honest, but I make an exception for the DMV. When I registered my AI trailer, I became even more cynical, if that’s possible…

Anyways, if they are going to charge you for the time you’ve owned the boat, why can’t you say that you bought it used last week?

There is a word honesty somewhere in there.  :smt005
