The water always looks nice when you're standing on the shore

It always cracks me up when I land Muir or someplace after getting the crap slapped out of me outside and somebody walks past and says Well you sure picked a great day for it!

Still Abking you've definitely got the life  When my ship finally comes in you'll be bumping into me up there

so far this year it seems like all the solid reports dry up as soon as you load up your gear

how far offshore did you get?

Sounds tantalizing
I might get one more shot at it next week

6 - 7 miles if you go in a straight line but count on more like 8 if you go up to rocky pt and head out + zigzag mileage

It makes for a long ride home after a day of trolling but "usually" the wind works in your favor if you do it that way Don't make any dinner appointments or you'll wind up with a pissed of wife or girlfriend

One good thing is Muir is a usually a pretty safe landing in the dark :smt028

From the coastside reports it didn't look like that hot of a bite more like typical Dux action and good grade fish It sounded like most boats skunked Last time I was out I was maybe 2 miles outside of the buoy and there was miles and miles of bait so the fish are probably coming through there fat and happy

My butt is just itching to sit on a kayak right now

skunked on salmon fishing along the outside of reef and out to 37.51/122.43 and vicinity where there was a sh*tload of birds and bait, but no salmon for me

Saw one salmon caught, heard about another

weather was great, sloppy toward the end of the day when the wind came up

Not wanting to come home empty-handed I rigged up for edibles and bounced a couple of times in the slop along the reef and dredged up a decent ling for the Chinese nanny

Not many boats

If I could get more fishing days I'd do Moss for sure tomorrow and try Dux later which is sounding sporadic for fish plus weather is more chancey

The drive to Moss is a bit on the long side for me

Fuzzy Tom I don't know if you saw it but a couple days back one of the coastsiders said the early morning run out of the jaws was dicey for small boats  One thing I figured out is once you get out of the mess at the jaws keep to the right away from the buoy you pass going out on the left, like you intend to head toward Pajaro

I was coming in there and passing the buoy got tossed, climbed back on and got tossed again Not such a long swim if it came down to that

Also somebody got into salmon a mile or so from the jaws

I'm scheming to sneak out this week and it's a toss up between Moss and Dux It's still looking like the fish are pretty deep at Moss

1166
They're out there, I could smell em

1167
Hey that's nothing but a little practice water

1168
view toward slide ranch from off of rocky pt

3+ hrs slog from Muir to Rocky Pt and wild ride back down

It would've been a circus if I had actually hooked up

Anybody with half a brain went to MB today

now you got me salivating for tater tots
