Caught on the Russian river 14"

Hi guys so I just bought a new sit in kayak (for a fantastic 250$!) and I am up at the Russian river testing it out. I will be camping up here for the entire week. I was thinking if anyone joins me I will "drift" from Casini either up or down stream.

For those of you who do not know the Russian river te name of the game is small mouth bass. How ever there are also bluegill, large mouth bass and catfish (although I have never seen some one catch a catfish)

Some good baits include:
plastic worms
Small jigs
Yellow and black spinners
Crawfish imitations
Plastic swim bait

Casini family campground in Duncan mills
On the main beach Thursday morning 6:30-7 am

General Fishing Tips / Sit inside kayaks
« on: August 05, 2013, 06:37:43 PM »
Are sit in side kayaks safe to go fishing out on the ocean with?
I love fishing but do not love getting drenched and was considering getting another kayak so that I can put a spray skirt on and have the top 2/3 of my body warm and dry.
Thanks

Safety First / Marine safety
« on: April 03, 2012, 09:05:53 PM »
Even though the seas near me (Bay Area) area pretty safe.
I know that the ocean, bay, big boats can be treacherous.
(I would know , do crew in much smaller, yet faster boats.)
What do you need as a safety kit?
A marine compass, GPS, and radio.
I am on a tight budget.
thank you!!!

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / ocean worthy
« on: April 03, 2012, 08:47:31 PM »
On sites where you buy kayaks there are little charts that say what type of water it is good for.
one that I am looking at has an eight out of ten for ocean which is good.
But can you make it more stable or worthy for the ocean?
For example platoons on the side.
Help is appreciated
Thanks
