For Sale / SOLD: Shimano trevala MH 6'6" $50
« on: November 30, 2020, 06:17:39 PM »
Was paired with the avet I'm selling.
This was actually Mooch's rod that I bought way back when. Love this rod, just don't use it any longer.  Showing a bit of wear, with a bit of corrosion on a few of the guides

For Sale / SOLD Avet sx Left hand silver $150
« on: November 30, 2020, 06:14:46 PM »
Before I toss this up on ebay, figured I'd offer it to the ncka crew. I just don't use it anymore, or at least enough.
Awesome reel. I've caught everything from salmon to a 50# roosterfish on this reel. Still in great shape, lovingly maintained....

For Sale / FREE: fly fishing flies and tying supplies
« on: November 07, 2020, 11:06:35 AM »
Since i rarely flyfish anymore im going to give away my junk.
Mix of striper and other saltwater flies, along with a bunch for surfperch. Most of the streamers and the like also work for smallmouth. You'll also get a few of my own surf perch patterns, guaranteed to catch fish or your money back.
The supplies have tons of mariboo, tinsel, and various feathers.  There's probably a cheap jig and some thread in the bag too.

Probably in total a hundred or so worth of stuff...free for an ncka brother or sister.

In marin, you need to pick up..

For Sale / Drift sock- free!
« on: December 28, 2018, 03:51:11 PM »
Sweet heavy gauge sock, with line.

Sized for a kayak, small enough to straighten u on anchor for sturgeon, but big enough for actual drifting. Worked well for me for many years, but too small for the boat
No idea brand.

Come to fairfax or pick it up in San Rafael

For Sale / SOLD--Promar telescoping net -$50
« on: December 27, 2018, 06:45:46 AM »
Got this with the new boat. Sweet rubberized net, but I already have a big honking dipper.

Would be great for most stuff around here, pretty deep and wide enough for almost anything but a monster sturgeon or a honking fatty

For Sale / Foodsaver v2840 - Free (you pick up)
« on: December 17, 2018, 08:06:53 AM »
Wife was fed up with me bitchin' about the seals not working all the time on our foodsaver.  So she just bought some industrial strength monster for xmas!
Have to add a bit of lard or canola oil every other time or so to get the seal to be tight.  So it works, but if you really want it to work perfectly you need to change out the rubber seal things. I know you can order them.

But it works, its free.
You pick it up in either San Rafael this week, or Fairfax next or the following.

General Talk / New non-yak for me
« on: November 28, 2018, 03:51:35 PM »
had this boat for a month or so now...just got it back from Pacific Yacht Towers where they did a custom t-top....damn thing of beauty.  waterproof canvas.  she's ready for sturgeon now!

I'll post pics over the weekend-- its all working. Fancy-dancy charts, crazy expensive transom mount transducer (300 bucks new!).  All the chords, etc.

I don't have the gimbal mount-- as the unit was flush mounted, so you'll have to buy the mount (25 bucks at west marine)

Wifey got me a Simrad Go9xse for the new boat- as a second unit to the existing Go9...so i'm gonna let this  one go.
I'll leave a few of my sturgeon waypoints on it if you want.

For Sale / Garmin echomap chirp 74sv
« on: October 23, 2018, 06:06:59 AM »
Gauging interest here.
I've got this finder in the new boat, and am trying to decide to leave it as a secondary, or yank it and replace with another go9xse.
Has the fancy giant ducer- sidevu/clearvu/2 freq chirp-, maps, suncover, etc. Doesn't have a gimbal mount, only the flush mount, so you'd have to pickup the mount.

They're like 900 new, a few hundred less on ebay,  450?

General Talk / Need a boat towed from SLC will pay $$
« on: August 31, 2018, 08:42:15 AM »
Ok, putting this out there.  I likely will need a 20 foot CC on a perfect trailer towed from salt lake to the bay area on or about Oct 15th.

you get it close and i'll come pick it up.

I'm thinking $500 for your troubles, but make me an offer.

For Sale / 2008 Triumph 170 center console yamaha f60 (600 hours)
« on: July 21, 2018, 05:29:41 AM »
Mamma said I need a bigger boat so I can get salmon more often. I swear, that's what she said. So I'm selling my little plastic fantastic and thought I'd post it here first.
This little boat has caught everything there is to catch around here, except albacore. It only weights about 1500 pounds with the motor, so it's super easy to tow and launch, but the little 60 is powerful enough to tow the kids on the tube. Draws meer inches of water, so sitting on the flats at the bottom of the tide is no problem, and no mud walk home. Handles the chop suprisingly well for how light it is.

Here’s the deal:

2008 triumph 170 center console w/ options

Full bow rail
Flip/flop stainless helm chair
72 qt cooler under seat
Swim platform
Rear seat cushions & backrests
Rear rail & back seats
Front casting seat (removable)
Dual batteries w/switch in center console (stock is in rear hatches)
6 rail mounted rod holders
Raymarine Dragonfly 7” GPS/chirp fishfinder
Icom vhf radio
2008 Yamaha F60  4 stroke (~ 560 hours)
13 gallon live bait tank
Scotty electric downrigger plugs aft
Stainless Solas prop
2008 ez loader galvanized trailer w/ spare & new tires

Upgraded plastic bunk covers (reduces corrosion on trailer & makes it easier to launch)

$10K  ( I will probably list it for 11.5K on boat trader)

I paid 12.5 w/ 450 hours on the motor two years ago – that motor will last at least 1500 hours.  I moved the batteries to the console, added the swim step, the cushions, and the Dragonfly, and did a bunch of other little things to make it more fishy. The motor just had a 100 hour tune (at 520 hours).  The control cables are getting close to needing to be replaced, but I am thinking I’ll do it later in summer (they cost about 100 and it takes couple of hours to pull them thru and reconnect).
I'm saying it has 600 hours even though it only has 553, as I'm still using it.
The trailer has some rust, but should be good for plenty of years.  You might have to replace the bunk brackets in a couple of years.

General Talk / Need 20 GA used shells
« on: March 01, 2018, 03:59:24 AM »
Random and odd I know, but I need a few used 20 GA shotgun shells for a little project. The diameter, metal end, and plastic sleeve are a perfect fit.

Anybody have a few laying around, or any idea where I can scare a few up?

« on: April 21, 2017, 02:40:43 PM »
She's up in Sonoma, needs a tandem or a big single for her + 1-2 dogs...

For Sale / Kokatat Supernova paddling suit Medium red -$300 obo
« on: December 30, 2016, 04:49:12 PM »
Couple of years old, in good shape. Neck and cuffs are tight and solid.
Im 5'8" and 150ish and this suit is really too big for me by a bit. Probably 1 or two inches too long in the legs (I've got a 30 inseam) and an inch or so in the arms (I'm +1.5 on the ape index)

I'll post some pics early tomorrow.
