I'll likely be headed up to Petaluma this week to pick up some gear for my wife at Red Triangle behind Clavey Sports. We're in Richmond, could do and East Bay handoff.

Thanks for the reminder Eric, haven't contributed for a couple years and you got me motivated!

For anyone on the fence, bonus karma point for signing up! Haven't fished all year, paid in last night and promptly paddled out this morning and caught my first fish of the year.

Hey Ben, last time we chatted was at the dock after the Islander trip a few years back. Be well!

I think they left one side open last night, was open at 6:15 when I rolled in.

Good meeting you today and congrats on the first ocean yak salmon!

Yessir! Good day...

Got there today around 6:15AM, one side of the gate was open and you could access the lot. Looks like it was left open all night. Not sure if that was a one off or a new policy. In the past it's usually opened between 7-8AM on weekends. Swell is supposed to come up a bit overnight, good luck and stay safe.

And, the warranty comes with yes?  Actually a quick check on eBay shows other used versions selling for more....Your asking price is not unreasonable.

Actually I think you should keep it, so the guilt and longing of seeing it there in your garage will eventually FORCE you to make that LR trip.  Your wife will understand.  Eventually.

Bushy has some sage advice. I bought the same rod years ago after I lost what would have been my first YT from a yak fishing La Jolla and vowed to come back the next year for redemption. It took four years to get another chance but finally got on an Islander mothership trip and got my fish with that rod, officially removing a four year monkey off my back. That rod sat in my garage and I'd think about that lost fish every time I walked by it until I slapped and Avet reel on, drove south and chased that YT. Keep it if you can...

I figured since itís bad weather, now would be a good time to get my avet mxl reel serviced. Can someone recommend a good place that doesnít charge an arm and a leg? Iím in SF

Send it in to Avet.  Probably the cheapest option too!  At least for a mail in service.

In truth  ,I will go where my wife tells me , just sayn` :smt044
Wife has been wanting to move back to Florida where she's from for years so that's where we'll wind up. After 2 trips a year for the last 15 years it has grown on me. Probably North or Central Fla, cheaper and less crowded. Fantastic fishing of all kinds, fresh, salt, offshore, inshore, beach and river and good hunting. Depending on where you are, good medical facilities that service the retired community. I told her I'm not staying for the summers though, so that's when we'll travel.
