Title: Replacing TI rudder lines
Post by: Malibu_Two on August 21, 2019, 02:11:38 PM
Has anyone replaced their rudder steering and up/down lines? I'm seeing some wear back by the rudder. Is it easy to replace these?
Can anyone point me to a kit that would include what I need?
Thanks,
Andrew

I've never changed them on my TI but have seen a couple posts about this (rudder line diagram images and info) in the AI and TI Facebook group here:

You need this https://www.austinkayak.com/Hobie-Mirage-Replacement-1000-lb-Rudder-Line-Foot/ACK13621P.html

As far as instruction, it looks complicated, twisted in the beginning.
However, if you stare for 10 mins and maybe draw it on paper it can be done.
I replaced mine recently on the rudder down_line. It is separate line from the up_line.

If a Hobie manual is not here, it doesn't exist:
