Heads up yall.  The resident outrigger paddling club (O Kalani) is also hosting a race at Encinal on Saturday 5/4; which could mean a lot of traffic, on and off the water.

They're out in deeper water.  I camped there last week and got nothing but rocks and shorts on the inside and just outside the jetty wall.  So I hopped on my buddy's boat and we did better in about 70fow.  Bagged 20 keepers for 4 of us.

It's not often you get the opportunity to explore such a beautiful venue, awesome people, amazing spread of food, and kindred spirits on and off the water.  My family had a blast exploring and experiencing the entire area and meeting so many friendly people (and dogs).  Fishing was action packed with shakers galore out at the Brothers in good weather and calm water.  Glad to have made it out with 1 keeper.  Big thanks to Kevin, Jack, and Michael for helping make this event happen.  Wifey Florence, Aiden, Dylan, and little Elliott can't wait to camp again next year.  Cheers all.

Emeryville Sportfishing has some family-friendly trips.  I haven't been on one so I don't know what to expect, but it's nice that they offer it.

[below pasted from their FB post]

Whoa this show looks pretty good. My xfinity X1 can't seem to find it yet. Maybe too far out still. Need to set a reminder.

+1 on the bug spray if you're anywhere near the water.  You'll be eaten alive at dusk.  ...I was.

++1 on bringin the yak.  Tow it around with whatever rental you get.  Perfect place to practice self rescue and to gain your friends' interest.

Welcome aboard darickk.  Post a hookup or PM me if you're up for a local outing.  I'm in Hercules and know a little bit about the area.  Also on an Outback (with a sissy Torqeedo motor).

You've come to the right board for the intel.  Read up til you go blind.

Rocks and lings?  I usually hit the reef at HMB.  (http://goo.gl/cIETFq)  ...near the first green buoy south of the mouth.

Thanks for this post.  It's easy to overlook a good first aid kit when we juggle so much kayak/fishing gear.  I'll be stocking up a similar kit.

Be careful not to let your line tangle up in your rudder or mirage drive too.  I also throw the float over the other side but I'm careful to position myself upstream of the drift so the buoy floats away.

Nice write up there Glen.  I lurnt some new stuff about the braiding!
