For Sale / Re: Electric kayak trolling motor w deep cycle battery

Not sure how long it lasts. I paddled it out moss a little over 3 miles.
Used it to troll and trolled back in.   It was going slower on the last leg back, but it’s hard to tell how far it will go before dying.
The downside is the batter weighs a lot.
But I have to admit, trolling a 2lb ball was a pretty laid back experience.

DIY mount. Battery fit in the crate held the mount in place.

Newport vessels electric motor for a kayak and deep cycle battery, bundled for $100.

Used about 6-6 times in ocean and bay on my prowler 15.
Worked great for salmon trolling and cruising back instead of paddling.

Located in San Jose

General Fishing Tips / Re: how to prevent split swim baits

I've used a lighter on big hammers and it works ok, but leaves the plastic discolored.
Anybody ever use Mend-it softbait glue?

Safety First / Re: Going to Alviso Marina tomorrow to practice self rescue
« on: September 26, 2020, 08:47:01 AM »
I’d recommend not going to Alviso to practice.  Your better off in a lake like setting. HMB would be safer.
Depending on the tides, the current In the Alviso slough is either incoming or outgoing.  Would hate to have you separated from your paddle or kayak.
Also, the slough is fairly narrow, esp at low tide and it’s too muddy to walk up.
Sturgeon fisherman launch there, run the slough and head out to the bay.

Once your confident, check out Alviso. Nice launch and free parking.

Safety First / Re: HMB distress call on Sunday 11/3

It was a father and son (early teens) pair.
I saw the two get reunited on the dock and was chatting the the PB who saved him. We were both fueling up at the HMB dock.
PB said his son was tired so he tried to tow him and somehow capsized. Dont know how, but his hobie  filled with water.
Glad they made it.  Be safe out there.

use a hammer...  :)

If you don't like that idea, maybe get a large pot of hot (boiling?) water and pour it down the rubber seal.

Jim,
You can file an amended tax returns, 1040X and 540X, to properly report your deductions and get a refund for the overpayment.

It a hassle, but worth it in the end.

Hang in there,
Stuart

Very nice!
Bear numbers seem to be climbing.  We saw quite a few during archery season too.
