General Fishing Tips / Re: Two Rods for CA Halibut?
« on: May 26, 2019, 01:19:21 PM »
think its the same ...once you retain a rockfish though...etc... back to one rod...I have not been able to find the part that says release a ling/rockfish ..no retention if halibut is your target...I'm sure it has to be tossed and one rod only if any rock or ling on board..

I was doing the same last year -after 5 years my zipper was not working on one side then soon the other..but I figured it the last of things i bought five years ago to salt away so maybe i would just get a new one...wow....im glad i did not get anything other than the fisherman..my new one is so clean and green lol....i knew right away where stuff goes and the toughness is evenident when you hold the new one next to the bloody worn out ones...like new tires for bike...new is nicer

Thinking about getting a new PFD to replace my Stohlquist, and read lots of good things about the NRS Chinook. Any difference between the "Chinook" and the "Chinook OS"? One extra pocket and $20 more is all that I can see...

General Talk / Re: Long hard drive for a short life.

cool to see folks chime in ,dogs are another common bond here
We got lucky ,in that due to the size of their old Lab - a mobile home vet that helps folks deal with the whole thing-makes house calls- and can help in the cremation or burial and returns the urn later.
Stil a terrible situation but the guy we found was such a kind ,caring old guy . Their family was able to call him and he came to them in really shitty time and did very hard job for them in the kindest way possible.

We have folks now who mention they are coming into tough times with older pets and we pass the mobile option-we had never heard of it before

Hope you guys hang in there - i cant even watch pets on the tv free pet deal lol...just got back from the beach with my two dogs..
thoughts with you guys

I've seen the rental company at each location and ownership -take their own gear and their own risk and go help people not -'their customers' not in their scope of pay -so many times I cant count--I've seen them give folks free days just for fun to see folks go on a bike or a kayak.
I've had their owner jump in a kayak in shorts and paddle out to me 6 years ago as I chose to kick alongside a tiny kayak that I had capsized while trying to learn but did not want my two freshwater fenwicks to get broken as the yak rolled while i learned...because I chose to go into the ocean to learn...
They clean up bio hazard bum trash daily and hand pick the beach....

the guy in the yak is an idiot-like me-he'll learn...people been swimming out there before wetsuits came into fashion and still do
