Why not contact sfpd if it was allegedly them that escorted boats off the water?

Not that I don’t trust a commercial fisherman but this sounds a bit fishy

Commercial guys hate everyboody especially the sport guys so it isprobaly a tacic to scre the sport guys off he water

I love fishing shenanigans....especially when it comes to intel.  I seen the  story line, The cynic in me naturally assumed thIs to be a formal announcement that the halibut are here and they’re on the chew within the sfpd jurisdiction  :smt003

Called SFPD Maritime unit today ( i actually call every day these days)- They said that there NOT kicking or escorting any boats off the water unless they do not pass a CG/license check (Essential Items, People on Board, Documentation, Etc.). Same rules as always.  I posted this information on Instagram and had 4 Commercial hali guys messaging me to tell me to take it down ASAP and a group chat was started by them about my post... Sounds like a whole lot of Commercial Fishing BS to me.

Complete BS.
SFPD has better things to do.

We did it!  Back for more at the appointed time... :smt006

Nice job! The water looked awesome. It can be a little treacherous in that area when the current really starts moving.

No kidding! Looks like a bathtub in the video.

Thoughts on tandem with my kids(7 & 9 yrs old)? Since it’s family, we don’t have to practice social distancing, right?

Yup, same household, no sweat

Yep, just choose carefully where you go and avoid close contact with other people when parking, launching, etc.
People are actually encouraged to go outside; just NOT TO GATHER IN GROUPS (like some of the Marin beaches this weekend).

You can GO OUTSIDE by yourself.
Just keep your distance from other people. Tackle shops should be closed - just make do with what ya got.

BTW, some brewpubs/taprooms are doing takeaway sales. You might have to order online first -- check with you local breweries. Don't get stuck without beer!

WHO Now Officially Recommends to Avoid Taking Ibuprofen For COVID-19 Symptoms

I would say avoid it altogether. It could be harmful if taken for a headache while you have asymptomatic covid19 and don't know it. Better safe than sorry.

https://www.sciencealert.com/who-recommends-to-avoid-taking-ibuprofen-for-covid-19-symptoms

FYI, since they mention paracetamol as an alternative, be aware that paracetamol is known as acetaminophen in the US, aka Tylenol.
If you take acetaminophen, be sure to follow the recommended dose, as too much can also cause liver damage.

Looks like fishing in San Mateo County (i.e. HMB) is prohibited unless you are in the business of providing fish for an establishment.  I'm guessing the other restricted counties have the same rules but check before you fish.

San Mateo County Shelter In Place FAQ:
https://www.smcgov.org/shelter-place-faqs

That doesn't make much sense. You can walk around the neighborhood, but you can't fish on a deserted beach...

I don't think that means citizens can't go fishing on a more-or-less isolated beach (or boat for that matter). By fisherman, it appears to mean commercial fisherman since recreational anglers aren't allowed to provide fish to other establishments in the first place.

Craftsmen's Corner / Re: Kayak Skid Plate
« on: March 02, 2020, 11:23:24 PM »
You absolutely cannot tell ANYONE else about this but skateboard deck rails (aka slider rails, etc) make great, cheap skid plates.
Heat to bend to the shape of the hull and use adhesive or plastic weld them on.

JUST DON'T TELL ANYONE!

Have to use the BPA-free Lock & Locks or it won't work.
