Wanted To Buy / WTB UNIDEN marine radio charger
« on: July 28, 2016, 11:09:39 AM »
Hello,

My MHS75 marine radio works but the DC charger quit working.
Already bought replacement radio. But I want to find a charger so the uniden radio can be used as spare or family communication on the water.

The charger plugs into car cigerate lighter. And a craddle that fits the radio connects to the car plug.

I can pick up in San Jose, Fremont, trivalley, or even sacramento this weekend.
Thank you!

Wanted To Buy / Buy or borrow Hobie AI trampoline
« on: July 28, 2016, 10:49:58 AM »
My 2013 AI was bought used and it came with only one trampoline. Its always been good enough until now.
This weekend I plan to bring the kids to Tahoe for leasure paddling. I think Ill need 2 trampolines to carry 2 teenagers.

So, if you'd like to spare one let me know the price.

Or I could borrow one net for this weekend only.

I can go to San Jose, Fremont, or tri-valley for pickup/return.
Sacramento is also on the way to Tahoe.

Really appreciate if you could help.

I lost my yellow BB dive baord today around 2pm. It is loaded with 3 legal abalone, a bunch of sea urchin, my Mako Speargun, other dive essentials and my fishing license/ abalone card.

I dove the area between big rock and shore. The board was clipped to kelp. My Mako gun was stuck. I borrowed a gun from my friend. Fish are plentiful. So I went for a fish chasing game. 5 minutes later, the board is gone.  :smt010

If any one found it, please let me know. I will find a way to thank you for this.

General Fishing Tips / How to forecast ocean conditions
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:10:08 AM »
Hello,
This topic probably are discussed before. I apologize first. But I had difficult time last Saturday at HMB. Old post pointers of this topic are also appreciated.

I went to HMB to crab on Saturday noon. Before enter water I saw no yak on the area outside of the jetty mouth. Then I went into HMB sportfishing and Tackle. I bought something then asked the guy why there are no kayaks out side crabbing. Is the ocean too choppy? He said it's not a bad day. People probably taking a break. Then I went out myself. As soon as I am outside the jetty mouth, I found myself in an angry sea. Too choppy for kayak to stay out. And small boaters are running back in. So I made an U-turn back inside the Jetty.

A question to our experienced fishermen: How to forecast ocean condition to a destination?

I use swellinfo.com. The picture below shows the condition forecast of Saturday. Swell is around 3 ft. Wind is 9mph. Is the wind the cause of choppy sea? How do you decide whether to go for a fishing trip along our Norcal coast?

Thanks a lot.

Introductions / Hello from East Bay
« on: November 06, 2014, 01:40:31 PM »
Hello,

Been lurking this site and finally registered.  :smt006

I got to this site from NCUH as a lot of divers use Kayak. I don't have a yak yet. But will get one soon.
Right now I use 12' Portabote. Been fish HMB a couple times. Love fishing and the after taste  :smt003

I am very lucky I bumped into Great Bass 2 on 11/1. He came back with an ice chest full of crabs. i introduced myself. He is very helpful. He told me to go on to NCKA website to access the wealth of fishing info. Best of all, he has a hobie AI  :smt007

Hopefully I will have chance to join some of you and enjoy fishing. :smt001
