Hobie Kayaks / Re: Hobie outback AI conversion!!

Welcome to the non-true kayaker club lol enjoy your time on the water. Always carry a beige pump! If you going offshore I would install a electric one  :smt006

This doesn't surprise me anymore, There has been videos of them incriminating themselves more and more however some would do a follow-up and owned the mistake while other choose to hide and ignore it. Like it didn't happen lol There are videos of people fishing in the SF bay with 2 rods or even 3 going for halibut. Or using a barb/treble hook when you have salmon aboard, or when fishing for RF having 5 hooks. Old or young, experience or not, when its about YT...its all about the views. Please like, share, and comment lol  :happy1: Happy Monday lol

Man I’m at a loss of words, so sorry that it happen to you buddy, hope you have a quick recovery!! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks to the infamous Youtubers who blew up that spot last year, the authority had dropped two large boulders at the entrance of the path to specifically block kayakers. That happened last year right after those YB videos were published. Yes, you can still launch there, but you'd have to carry your yak over the two large boulders. There is a side path that avoids the boulders but is equally treacherous. If that's not called spot burning, I don't know what is. I stopped viewing their videos ever since. Sorry for the rant, but those MF's killed a great fishery for good.

Most of those MFers are on this board.  Its ok to single people out and mention names.   :smt044

But on a serious note, its all about sharing man. If you're not burning at least 1 spot per video, you can't call yourself a serious YouTuber.

Lol lol lol  :smt044 :smt005

Some fish out of bodega, maybe there is a chance for one more :)
Go catch your BFT, I am thinking the chances are about the same, but longer day/resources for BFT.  I have a true BFT setup, but not the leader.  Coming soon though ....

Oh yes longer days for sure when you are hooked up and fighting a fish for 5 hours lol IYKYK

What setup did you get? Have another one coming this week that should cut that 5 hours down to 2 hours lol big ass tuna right now!! Make sure gear is ready for it lol 250 lbs landed over the weekend

General Talk / Re: Suzuki DF2.5: Looking for advice/tip
« on: October 11, 2021, 10:53:16 AM »
Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to this one.

The Suzuki is bulletproof and dunk proof lol

At the beginning, the new motor tend to behave poorly. Some get lucky while others aren't lucky. I remember out on the water it would stop all of a sudden. Then it would take a bit to re-start it. After this I discover that there is a A/F adjustment screw. It is hidden and needs to be drilled out to access it. This is important as I notice it would run rich from the factory which caused the spark plug to get fouled. Leaning out the mixture helped a lot.

Other than that I carry extra spark plugs and even a small bottle of brake cleaner to spray in the intake side for emergency. If the motor doesn't start and you want to troubeshoot fuel issue, spray brake cleaner in the intake tube, if it starts then you know its something related to fuel delivery.

Normal maintenance. If you aren't going to use the motor for awhile, drain the fuel out of the bowl of the suzuki. There is a screw at the bottom that releases fuel from the bowl of the carb. This way the jets doesn't get clogged up.

Can't stress this enough...if you don't know how to work on the motor, only go as far as you are willing to paddle or peddle back just in case something happens. Also bring a bilge pump in case you have water in the hull.

Not sure what happen with Jake kayak but as you can see his kayak was filled with water. Drain plug left out? Crack? not sure but his kayak was about to go under if it wasn't for the boaters.

My kayak was full of water when I made the run from HMB to Pedro Point. When going full throttle, water does come in through the steering tube and rear hatch. I have a bilge pump that pumps out water. I also randomly check inside during the day just in case.

Even if you are up on maintenance, shit happens...just be prepare.  :)

thanks for the report.

Great idea of re-launching and re-landing the kayak after all of the heavy gear is off-loaded. It's a lot of work at the end of the day but its worth it I suppose.

When the waves are crashing against the wall, just be cautious that the residue energy from the wave that crash against the wall will go back out causing a mini rip-current. If you jump out and no one is to grab the front of the kayak, it will get pulled back into the danger zone. Ask me how I know lol luckily nothing happen :)

where are all the kayakers that went to the dark side this year. I thought motor kayak was easy to catch salmon? lol

Anyways you been reporting all season unlike people who PM me asking for intel and not posting lol Happy Monday!
