What is the age of a crab when they first become legal size? What age at 7"? How fast do they grow? Males faster than females?

Anyone been out in Bodega Bay for crab this past week? Read Sharky say crabs are beaching at HMB, hoping same is true for BB. Any beta? Heading up there tomorrow.

so far in this my first year of crabbing. Can you suggest different spots? I also saw about the whales in Monterey. Is there a place close to that that I could drop traps and then go whale watching while they soak?
