Go to your Ace hardware store and find one of the rubber adapters that connect to your automobile's exhaust and to a garden hose.  Run the other end of the hose down an open gopher hole, pack some dirt around the hose to seal off the hole, start the vehicle and let it idle for around 30 minutes.  They can't escape the carbon monoxide gas, and it will kill all the gophers in the tunnel.  I've been using one of these things for several years with great success after having tried and given up on the conventional traps and foggers.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Cambria 5-16

Another good day of fishing off Cambria.  The wind and swells died down today making for a easy paddle.  I caught and released 7 short lings before finally landing a keeper, which with lots of small gophers and a few decent bolina, kept the action hot all morning.  It's fish tacos for dinner!

Way to go JK!  That's a great cabbie!  I'm going to give it a try tomorrow morning.

Nice catch!  How far out did you have to go for them?  I fished there once while on vacation last year, got out past the kelp line (a mile or so) and skunked out.  Couldn't find any real structure on the graph or anything.

Thanks,
beenfishin

I wasn't out far at all.  About the 2nd set of kelp beds out in about 50' of water.  The FF was showing plenty of structure and a lot more fish than those that were hitting.

Nice Stache - how was the wind and chop today?  People have been saying its a washing machine out there.

We couldn't commit to it so we went for stripers at San Antonio - let me know the next time you are going to cambria - it looks like my next shot will be memorial day wknd

JK,
The wind and chop weren't too bad at all early in the morning, but it started to blow around 10:00AM.  By the time I had everything loaded and the fish filleted, the wind and chop were looking pretty bad.   I wasn't even sure I was going to go out based on the marine forecast, but I decided to make the drive just in case it was decent enough to head out for a couple of hours.  It was a long winter, and I was aching to just get wet!

Had a great early morning outing in Cambria today.  OTW before 6:00AM to beat the wind, and off by 10:00 as the wind was starting to pick up, with a few good meals in hand.  Released two underlings and a bunch of small gophers.  I had the camera all set up in it's dry case and left it on the front seat of the truck, or I would have had some OTW shots as well.

11
Well, now the marine forecast is for 25 to 35 kt winds and 11 to 13 ft. swell, which doesn't sound like much fun.   :smt012 :smt013

Damn!  Gotta work on the opener!  I'll be there on Sunday at the crack o' dawn though!  Let me know who's going Sunday so we can gang up on the lings!!!
