Yes I spoke with Dennis about the entire event. He will be at the gate early in the morning to let day use contestants in and charge them at the gate.

Word is the new management at the Albion campground has instituted serious changes and that exercising complete control over the campers is the new agenda...not that there have been any serious problems in previous years. They have developed a new list of rules and regs that seem somewhat draconian and would be better suited for a prison camp. They disconnected the campground wi-fi and jacked up the prices on everything.
The satisfaction you get from doing a good deed is like pissing in your wetsuit...it gives you a warm feeling inside but nobody else gives a shit.

ALBION OPEN IS STILL ON!!!

I spoke with “Dennis” the campground manager a couple times and he has allowed the tournament to go on! Same date sept 16th from 6:00 am - 2:00pm, register for the event online at albionopen.com or in person the day before or the day of the event. There are still lots of campsites available at Albion river campground. Please check in and sign a waiver before you launch.

Be Safe, have fun, kill some big fish!!!
Heads up!!! on the passive-aggressive management regime of these new managers. Not allowing or recognizing the scheduled event and then charitably changing his mind and then giving in is typical of Dennis' sociopathic negotiation tactic in the campground this year. He is ex-Marine security who is now campground supe...sounds like Mr. Lahey in the Trailer Park Boys except this guy ain't funny.

I’ll be doing Monterey but in my experience last weekend at Albion I didn’t notice much difference. Campground was full of mostly trailers and motor homes with several groups, tents and canopies. Lots of socializing and drinking round the campfires, etc. I think things got more quiet around 10, which was fine by me. No no Karaoke = good thing.
Heard at least one loud drunken midnight incident on Friday night that I could live without. No dog poop issues. There was a guy driving around on a golf cart but I didn’t see any confrontations with him. I felt better about leaving my stuff unattended. Have fun everyone.
