Lowrance Elite 4 DSI fish finder and GPS combo unit. Cool little fish finder that does the job really well. Used it for a season on a backup kayak but looking to upgrade it. In very good condition and has the RAM mount that fits into the back of the unit for a super clean install.

Solid at $200. Ask for a deal and I shall smite thee with a freshly caught... let's go with a Greenling this time.

Available in Seattle area or can ship it on your dime. About $17 to anywhere in the NW and Cali.

Great vid on how to mooch Washington (Puget Sound) style for salmon by local guide Keith Robbins. Use your fish finder to find bait and then drop the herring through them and WHACK! Good times.

For Sale / 2013 Adventure Island w/ yakima trailer, tramps, rudder cozy, aka bag

Hobie Adventure Island used about 20 times in the salt and freshwater and always rinsed down and garaged. Comes with a rudder cozy, trampolines, and aka bag. Only mod I've done to the hull is to encase the below the waterline drain plug in epoxy. Since there's 2, sealing the underwater one was a no brainer to be safer.
Selling for $3750.

Yakima Rack and Roll 78" trailer. Sweet little light trailer that's been good to me but not using it as much as I wanted to. 1 year old, in perfect condition and comes with the add-on spare tire and tongue jack. Folds up for easy storage if space is an issue. It was for me so that was the real selling point. Retails for $2300 new and the add-on spare was $180. Will throw in the tongue jack.
Selling for an even $2000.

Would sell both for $5650. Would also consider a trade for a nice aluminum drift boat of the similar value.

I'll be in the Bay Area January 23-25 and will deliver then.

Safety First / Video: kayaker nearly run over by boat

The other day Michael Rischer of the Hobie team in Portland was dino fishing on the Wilamette river and had a very close call with a PB. He got it all on camera. It's a tough one to watch (more than GWS my personal nightmare). It is really crowded this time of year but run ins like this are the first I've heard of.

Be safe out there guys and please fly those safety flags.

NWKA member Kallitype posted some findings he's gotten from spending some time testing knots. Two threads with different types. If nothing else they're pretty interesting. Recently he posted one using the Spangler knot and he's got some great results. I gave it a shot and it's really easy to tie and a nice little compact knot.

Pay It Forward / Kayak Angler mag illustration auction for Mooch

Just finished an article and illustration for the upcoming issue of Kayak Angler magazine. I got the OK from the mag to auction off the illustration and all proceeds will be going to Mooch.

The color illustration comes with the initial sketch and is for the article "Skunk Harder." The title will make a lot more sense after reading it but for the time being I hope someone can frame and enjoy the illustrations and look forward to getting more money to Mooch for the cause. Bidding will end Sunday night.
