A couple Wacko's I know rolled their yaks down the stairs with their wheeleze carts and then paddled through the blow hole on a super windy day.....
It was too windy to fish

Craftsmen's Corner / Re: Live Edge Redwood Tables...what finish to use?
« on: January 31, 2022, 09:46:51 PM »
Poly and epoxy are both plastic. The Poly finish is very durable compared to lacquers and old school varnish. I like that you can do a wipe on poly and or abrade the finish to get a more natural look. The thick epoxy pour on is very durable(thick) and costly. Either way it can always be repaired or refinished.

General Talk / Re: Fish vacuum sealer suggestions

I went through so many "commercial" model food savers I finally decided to get a Vacmaster like Pete has last year. Fortunately for me I found a used one at half the retail price. The weight 80# lbs. is an issue, you are not going to want to move it.
But I really got back into gardening and food preservation so it's the bomb.
I really like the fact that doing liquids and being able to change the vac. time at will according to what your packing...

General Talk / Re: Legs fall asleep from too much kayaking?
« on: December 16, 2020, 02:32:11 PM »
I had that problem! I got a gel pad and that helped a lot. In another yak I carved a minicell foam butt pad and that worked better.
If you have a yak that doesn't have a butt bucket it cuts off your circulation......
Now if I have a problem I'm just old.....lol

If you have time the FG because of how slim it is. Fast and strong but larger the GT knot.

Halibut.... have very small brains.

They are a little bigger than a peanut....lol and behind the top eye at the juncture of two creases.
Here is where to aim for to spike or bonk them.

Definitely dress for immersion and buddy up have the usual pfd and radio.
Side note, there are 2 pretty active seal haul outs there.....had my first paddle with the "man in the gray suit" there with 3 other people.

Not sure but Dry Creek store has a minnow sign.

You could switch to a longer axle and 12" wheels and tires $$$$$$....you would have to add fenders too.
