Thanks guys , and girls for all the interest. Pisciform yes I will be home this weekend, if you take it all
I will find a few extras to throw in to sweeten the deal. I have a old school mate that is a senior
chemical engineer at Monsanto I was talking to him about the Kayak and he told me that the price
of oil was going to push up plastic prices. He didn't know how fast it would take place but that it
would happen. get ready for inflation on fun.

Janice and Joel, thanks for the words. I just don't have anyone close to fish with
Fishing alone all the time or driving for three hours by your self to get to the fish
is kind of like kissing your sister.

The cart is the Roleez with the Big wheels. I have attached a picture, hope it is large enough.
Thanks..

For Sale / Prowler 15 plus extras for Sale
« on: March 05, 2008, 10:22:23 AM »
I have a Prowler 15 that is about three years old. It has seen very little use (sadly) The kayak has been stored in the
shade with plastic tarps over it.
Prowler 15 yellow
Bending Branches paddle 230 cm
Back up paddle Harmony estuary infusion
Two flush rod holders behind seat
Surf to Summit high back seat with two rod holders and pouch on back
8" hatch with rubber easy attach cover and 2" freeboard clearance (no leak)
Misc lines and hooks
Two wooden blocks to set kayak on contoured to bottom for storage

700.00 firm

I also have a Standard Horizon HX 471 radio that is unused. Taken out of box battary charged but never used.
I also have a Roleeze cart with the big tires that was used two times.
And last but not least a Hummingbird Matrix 17 still new in the box unused.

I do not want to break these items up so the are for sale at 350.00 as a group.

I also have a steel ladder type rack I built to carry kayaks. It is built out of 1" X 2" X 1/8" wall tubing.
I believe it weighs about a hundred pounds?? The steel to build it runs over two hundred dollars.
I want $ 200.00 It was built to fit a 200 Ford F150 extra cab PU. It is a cab over design.
Rack was never painted and is rusty. E mail me for more details

Sadly I am not close to the bay area. I live in Visalia. I am onyl interested in clean deals and cash money no
checks. You pick up  , no shipping.

Ocean Kayaks / Prowler shape.
« on: March 28, 2006, 11:24:16 AM »
Question to Prowler owners.

I have a Prowler15 and have made a couple of support blocks that fit the profile of the bottom about 3ft in from both ends. When on these supports the kayak sets straight up and can be worked on easily with out bending over any.
The kayak has been stored this way for over the winter months. My worry is that the middle has been un supported and I did not think of the possible sagging of the yak over time. I have since turned the yak over 180deg to allow the sag to reverse, if any. Assuming Prowlers are all made from molds of the same shape they should all be the same measurements.
I guess a good way to measure this would to pull a string tight over the top of the bow and stern while setting upright and measure the distance from the string down to the bottom of the inside deck at a known spot.
The local dealer (sport chalet) has their kayaks stored up high in the store and not available to compare measurements with. When I can determine the correct height of a center support to maintain the proper shape I will make one to conform to the proper height. Sooo are there any other obsessive compulsive types out there that can measure their Prowler so we can compare ?? Mine is 10 3/8" from the string down to the bottom of the cup holder.
I sure is amazing the things we can think of to do when it has been to cold and windy to go fishing!!

I feel for you James,

Nothing lower than a thief. I will look for the "Help Button" when Bill get it up. I will also pledge to donate a new cable lock to the cause. ( I have two different brands of locks to secure my Prowler with)  It has been said hang together or hang separately.   This group will hang with you.

For Sale / Re: looking for F150 truck rack
« on: January 11, 2006, 11:35:53 AM »
Jason,

I built a ladder style rack for my 2000 F150 short bed last summer. I am not looking to sell it but I could save you some time
if you were to decide to build your own. I made it out of 1" X 2"  1/8" wall steel tube. It is straight forward design and
plenty sturdy for several kayaks, or lumber, ladders, ect.
P.M. me and I will send measurements and pictures if you are interested. All you need is a saw and access to an arc welder.

General Talk / Re: Kayak Apparel And Falling Out

My thanks to Tote for starting this thread and to all of you that have contributed to it.

Every post topic has value and I read them all. But the subject of safety really gets my attention.
When I read about close calls that experienced kayakers have had it just reminds me how
vulnerable we all are. The wisdom shared here could very easily save someones butt , thanks.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Battery holders..
« on: October 30, 2005, 11:50:15 AM »
Excellent Sean,

That is just the info I needed. I think I will order and try out the AA listed at the top of the site page. The name is powerx and rated at 2500 Mah . I have some nmh AA but not enough to fill a 10 battery holder. I know not to mix odd brands and amp rated batteries.
Thanks for sharing the information.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Batterys!!
« on: October 29, 2005, 09:08:24 PM »
Hey Sean,

You mentioned above that you were going to try out some 2300 mAH ni cads . How did they perform did you get to the 10/ 12 hrs expected?
I have a new Matrix 17 still in the box. Where is the best place to buy the battery holder to hold 10 AAs I can figure out the water proof box part but need help in finding the battery's themselves and the holder. I remember a link that was posted in the past but have not had luck in finding it with the search feature.  Thanks in advance for your kindness.
P.S. what ever happened to the clothing you were adding to your inventory??

Good Point Malibu-two,

The comment about the garden was just a way of showing what  quality table fare some might be.
I have caught a few blues in the past but released them. And also a nice sized thresher years ago but the deck hand liberated him.
