I did the same thing on my driveway and sidewalk joints using self leveling epoxy.  It has held up well except for turning black where my tires hit it.

I always wash outside. If I'm fishing again in a day or two, I'll leave the boat on the car and just spray it down while on the car.

I used to do the same thing.... Kinda lazy of myself, I'll take it down tomorrow sort of thing after a long day on the Ocean. But then I noticed I started getting rust spots on the top of my front window. Ended up having to take it to a shop for some severe rust repair. Now, I never rinse on the truck, I remove my yak and rinse it on my gravel landscape but I also now salt away then rinse off the truck.
