I'm looking to buy an old tarpon 140. I would prefer an older one with the Tupperware hatches but would also buy a newer one.
Its for a good friend of mine who wants to get in the game.

I have one with the tupperware hatches that I have not used for a long time. It also has a foot controlled factory rudder option. I am willing to get rid of it, but I have no idea what it is worth. I am in the Sacramento area.

OHV, if it is in moderately reasonable condition, I would give you $450-$500.

Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

I've been hunting for a Tarpon 120 and all I was seeing were Tarpon 140's and 160's.  If you look on Facebook Marketplace, you'll see quite a few for sale.

And if you see a Tarpon 120, let me know?

Hey Ron, thanks for spotting this. I will talk to my buddy and see how much $ he can cough up. $800 seems a little steep. I know he has $600 to spend so if you can negotiate that, I would gladly drive up there to get it. Thanks for your help.

Ya, they handle the ocean like a dream though. My thresher and radar make the tarpon feel like it floats up into the rack when you lift it :smt005

Tarpon 140 is pretty heavy and long.

The older models were indeed heavy for their size, due mostly to a generous plastic pour.
Makes the hull stiffer than any comparable plastic yak of the time, so a pleasure to paddle but tougher to load and portage.
