Getting out for a few hours around the moss landing area. Waves not too bad but a lot of seaweed and grass in the water.

My first overnight tuna trip.

Don't care if it's the wrong time,boat, fishing grounds, going to enjoy the heck out of this trip.

Thanks to ex-kayaker for all the tips and recommendations .

Lure/iron recommendation, donations accepted.

Stocking up on Red bulls now and just go into a coma wed night when I get back.

Morning walk

Got out an hour early to walk to a spot I had two good take downs yesterday.Sure they were perch.

Took my time a snapped a few pics.

It's high tide now . My best bites have been about half HR or so when the tide is going out.

Morning All

Looking for some help with info on obtaining a captain's license (boat) for hopefully this next April. So, hopefully enough time to prepare now.

I have been boating for decades. I obtained, my commercial license this year to ride along with a friend who commercial fishes salmon.

Just started my research and found classes that are running from about 800 and up. The ones i have found are online. Looking for a hands-on classroom atmosphere.

Good news is they typically just feeding on smaller prey. It's the momma's and the poppas ya gotta look out for..

Hooked a small 7 footer on a live croaker that went airborne a few yrs ago near capitola.

This is posted frequently but a friendly reminder for the new folks getting into salmon fishing. We are starting to see more and more silver salmon here in the Monterey bay. Of course these are not legal for take. Familiarize yourself with the differences between a King and Silver salmon. That is all. Carry on !

Off work early today and the tide was right. Perching has been slow around the Moss landing area so north towards Bushy grounds i went.

Landed this beauty on a camo grub. Nice walk and a little excitement for the day . Just under 14 inches. Gifted to a friend.

Didnt get a chance to do a photo op with a tasty kake.
