If you don’t mind going to his address. Thanks

17
I just look it up on his address. Let me get him to meet you at the gas station. It’s more easy for both I would think. Thanks Kevin

no rush in getting it to yakyakyak...whenever you have time. I don't need it anytime soon. Thank you both

He responded with

2pm at 29 Sorrento Way, San Rafael.?

If that doesn’t work out then I’ll txt him the shell station.

Sol haven’t had that in awhile. Marin general nurses loves that place lol

I can do SR tomorrow morning 9am or afternoon 2pm on my way to/from work, I live in El Cerrito.

I just did an NCKA express for yakyakyak, wish this happened last week.

awesome Kevin and yakyakyak. I text him to see what time he prefer. Do you have a location that is convenient for you?

I can’t do Novato but San Rafael is close enough off my commute on my way to SF.  I have family in Milpitas and can get it down there almost any weekend.

ya he can do SR and any place and time that is good for you.

Since you go to Milpitas any weekend, that would help out a lot and would be great if Yakyakyak can meet up with you.

I could help out as well if Kevin’s schedule doesn’t work out. I live in Novato so no problem for me. I can hold it or figure out NCKA express to get it down to you sooner John

You still in lala land after that epic trip? I appreciate the offer. If Mark or Kevin can't then yeah if you can grab it and hold onto it. You know me I'll be going to Bolinas when it opens up lol You ready for some salmon? salmon is now child play to you after going after bluefin lol

Thank you Kevin. The guy is willing to meet anywhere in SR or Notavo tomorrow. Anytime and place. Mark L offer as well.

Let me know your time schedule and what’s convenient for you. I’ll ask Yakyak if he can possibly hold it for me since I’ll be flying out of SJ next Wednesday and coming back the following week.

Thanks for all the help

Hey guys. Just wondering if someone from San Rafael or passing through SR able to pick up two downrigger for me this weekend. Either to San Jose or Fresno. Or even hold onto for me since I’ll be going to Bolinas when salmon opens and could pick it up as well. The guy is only holding and selling it this weekend. If you can help, let me know. Greatly appreciate it.

Safety First / Re: Trying to understand Moss Landing gnarly entrace

If your motor is the electric kind, I would be very hesitant to try it or at least have someone with you. The entrance like nudding mention can be very dicey!! Just be weary that boaters and bigger boats goes full speed. Afternoon when wind and waves goes through it’s a fun ride lol

Given everything just make sure you have all your safety stuff which I’m sure you do.

I’ll pm you some location if you are going for salmon. It’s very doable. Within 3-4 miles. Last week was a killer bite!! Not sure if they moved on or not. It’s windy this week but swell are great.

Thnx for the report I still need to give it a shot one of these days but reeling in 250-300 feet down is making me tired just thinking about it lol

Awesome great job

I email the guy and he responded back with the following:

"you probably bent the piece a little bit and that started it folding. but if you straighten it out, you can probably take a couple piece of aluminum bar from the hardware store and reinforce it. I'd just rivet them on.
"

I hate to say it, but for all of that trouble, I think I'd just go with the spine board that I see in your picture. It looks like you could just bungee that to your aka bars, and then bungee the seat onto it.

Anyways, it's a bummer that the aluminum bench is giving you so much trouble. I feel bad about that, and I'd be glad to refund your money if it's not going to be useful for you.

It’s not much trouble Mark and please don’t feel bad!! I love trying out new things out. Whatever can make it easier to transport I’m all in. I like the aluminum haka since I’m thinking of mounting my other DR on it to troll. I couldn’t do that with the spline board. The aluminum has a lot of option!!

My setup is unique so I knew that going into it! You putting up the upfront cost and working the logistics on getting it is awesome.

I do use straps to mount it on my setup. Was going to do the quick fist mount but that means the person will sit higher. Making it tippy?

On another note yes sand those edges!! I cut myself a few times hence why I put duct tape on them!

I'm not sure. Perhaps if it was mounted the way it was suppose to, it wouldn't bend? Since the side of the HAKA is rounded one way could provide more support than the other way?

I email the guy and he responded back with the following:

"you probably bent the piece a little bit and that started it folding. but if you straighten it out, you can probably take a couple piece of aluminum bar from the hardware store and reinforce it. I'd just rivet them on.

I'll probably do something like that when I figure how to hammer the side down flat. I should have been more detail when looking at the picture before buying it. I wasn't expecting the side to be raised up. I should have asked for just a straight board without any rolls or support and maybe ask for the heavier aluminum. Oh well. This will work for now. Thanks Mark for all your help in coordinating this. I'm sure this will work with your setup.
