My family and I are headed up to Oregon to visit my mom. If the weather cooperates I'm lanning on stopping by to pick up some R/F to feast with the rest of the family. We aren't planning on staying the night, gonna head for Eagle Point, OR, right after. I'll make final decision on thurs/fri, hoping the weather holds. Anybody with advice on; getting a reliable weather report, secret fishing spots(please only the super secret ones), and anything else one might think of. We'll be in a red two seater; my son and I. We will be in Oregon for a couple days and then going visit mother in-law at Eagle Lake for the last few days of our week off. Company WELCOME!!!

Santa Cruz / Test paddled the "Santa Cruz Kayak"
« on: May 22, 2011, 01:29:04 PM »
The family and I went to Paddle Fest today. My son and I talked with Jim, from Santa Cruz Kayak, and he showed us his yak and how its set-up, as well as a stripped down model. They are a little on the pricey side, but I'm going to try and get one. I will give it one more try in big blue first though. I was short on time, but paddled it out, leaned over in it and tried to compare it to my P15. I think my top speed is a little faster in the P15, but just normal paddling is very comparable; effort to speed of travel. It is very stable, I never felt that "point of no return." Overall I really liked it and would recomend people give them a try if they are looking into getting a fishing yak.
Also ran into Chuk-e(?). Sorry bro I ran out of time and wasn't able to get over and talk and chill with you at the Hobie tent. BTW, I won't be selling my Revo!

General Talk / My son is Great
« on: May 21, 2011, 09:11:51 PM »
Spent the day in San Leandro at the "Relay for Life." My son, who has been growing his hair out for 4 years, chopped it off and donated it to cancer patients. His mom and I are very proud of him. After not destroying the world today :smt044, I hope the fish gods are smiling down on him and bless him with a great safe and bountiful fishing season!

General Talk / Why I missed GMS; pig hunt
« on: May 21, 2011, 12:06:48 PM »
Finally got around to post some pics of my pig hunting trip last weekend. My nephew and I both shot hogs; mine was 100lbs and his was 140 lbs. The pic of his didn't come out. We were hunting on one of his relatives, from his wifes side, private property above Lake Sanoma.

I won't be there all those days, but the fishing promises to be some of the best, if not the best you will ever experience. I going to try and make it friday afternoon and sat morning. It may take a day for the fish to find them, but they will be there gorging. I always seem to miss these plants or hear about them a week later, after the bite is over. DFG released a bunch of salmon and steelhead smolts last week of the Feather. There was over a hundred boats fishing a section of the river and everybody was hooking up! With that, BE CAREFULL, lots of excited P/B can make things nerve racking. Read the article below.

Hobie Kayaks / how to fix??
« on: October 02, 2010, 04:38:30 PM »
One of the cleats that is used for a clip to hold the seat in place, came out of its socket. It really sucks, because its like having no seat at all. Wondering if anybody else has had this issue and what is the best way to fix it.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / HMB WSB 8/17 ??
« on: August 16, 2010, 12:05:19 PM »
Just wondering if anybody is going to give it a try. Would like to go, but looking for company. If the weather is good, I think launching from beach will shorten the distance by a 3rd. Any thoughts or advice on that would be great.

My son and I are going to try for some stripers. We will be fishing on our pontoon boat( no yaks this trip). We have plenty of room for company, if you don't mind fishing while sitting on a couch, listening to a radio and bbq'n. Sorry for the late invite. You can call me if intersted. We will be at the launch at 6:30-7:00.
