Anybody know if Aquan Sport in San Carlos sells those 18" Game Stringer or any dive shop in the eastbay. I am located in San Leandro.  Looking to pick up one. Any info will be appreciated. Mahalo

Andrew,

Aloha, I am planning on launching from Alameda Crown beach and start trolling from Ballena towards the ARW. I'm thinking to get out a little early. Hope no one will turn on the fan tomorrow morning.  Hope to see you guys out there tomorrow. Mahalo

Hightide, that's an awesome setup.  I like the way you setup the mount for the FF and rod holders. Thanks for posting the pics.

Ernie,

You will need a Bay Delta stamp to fish the bay. There about 6 something, I just bought one yesterday at Traders.  I heard that F&G are checking those License and endorsement stamp. Good luck and be safe out there.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Cuda 168 Fishfinder.....

I'm ready to buy a FF for the Scupper. I was looking at the Cuda 168 seems to be the best fit for what I need.  Any suggestion out there on the best way to mount the unit and the transducer.  I'm almost done with the storage box and the rod holders and she's looking pretty good now. Any suggestion or guidance will appreciated.

Thanks Gary, it's pretty hard to bestowed someone with name masterbaiter unless you're a pro. I usually jigged up my bait when I fish out of  my Montauk using sabiki rig. I bought a throw net couple month ago and I would love to use it sometime soon.I got some few ideas how to rig the scupper pro just browsing this site. Hopefully I'll hookup with some of you pro's so you can show me the rope.  I used to be a stud paddler for a hawaiian canoe club for long distance and sprint but walked away from it about 7 yrs ago.  Every once in awhile I'll take the surfski out for a 1-2 hour run out in the bay. Looking forward hooking up with you guys sometime soon.

Glad your ok John. Those seals are pretty vicious especially if their pups are close by.  Be very careful out there.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: My First Kayak....

I think Brian G has a scupper pro with a tranducer mounted on the stern. I prefer the shoot through hull installation if you are going to be fishing in kelp.

Scott

Scott, any advice which is a best fit through hull transducer for the scupper pro.

HobieSport, I am actually in the bay area. This is the first time I try fishing off the yak. I do most of my fishing in my 17' Montauk and I've always wanted to try kayak. Spearfishing, fishing and ab diving is actually what I'm going to use this boat for.  I really don't want to start drilling holes in it until I figure out how the boat handles the water in the bay and up north (Albion, Van Damme). I totally agreed with using a crate and put some pvc rod holder on it and go from there. I am trying to figure out what is the best FF to purchase for the yak.  I want to fabricate a mount for the transducer to place where the rudder at. Thanks for the advise. I am pretty new on this site and also new to kayak fishing. Mahalo

Aloha, I just bought my first kayak, it is a 15' Scupper Pro.  I've done some fishing off an OC1 outrigger in Hawaii but never a kayak. Any helpful idea of how to rig up this type of boat for fishing and ab diving.  Any help on ideas will be appreciated. Mahalo
