Since moving over the winter, I'm not sure where to get a decent deal on squid and it's time to quit bitching and get to fishing. San Jose had a nice price per box at Bass Pro, but it would be nice to skip that drive if possible.

Anyone know where to stock up on squidcicles in Scotts Valley?

Either Safeway or Nob Hill should have the 3lb frozen squid box for I think 20$ or so.  Not sure of any place closer, can always go Bayside Marine, or the wharf.

Thanks and I'll check out Safeway and Knob Hill!

Hit an Asian market.  Usually will have fresh squid and always you'll find frozen.  All at a lower price.  Oddly squid you can eat is cheaper than squid as bait.

There is a Ranch 99 in Los Gatos I think.  When you are over in the SJ area, give it a visit.

Totally agree Asian markets are the best, but there sadly are none close to where I live.  It's hard to get even thai chili's  :smt012

On their website, the Knob Hill squid are $6.66 per pound. The mark of the beast, so they must be for big fish!

Nob hill is 6.66 a pound and it's a 3 lb box so that's 19.98. Safeway is cheaper
