I would love to play around with it.  Will try to pick it up sometime next week. Thank you Ark.
Sounds good Sonny. Ping me when you plan on coming

Thought I'd post it to the board if someone is interested here as we could always make parts for our kayaks.
Lots of upgrades done to the printer. Have a couple of bed plates. Comes with a fire retardant cover/case. Needs calibration which you can do on your own.

I upgraded to a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. Let me know if interested in picking this up. I'm in Palo Alto.

I would buy one but nrs wetsuits have this neoprene smell that tends to make me seasick which the stohlquist suit doesn't.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: 30ah Battery for Hobie Outback

I use a holder in the rear round hatch of my hobie to hang my 2 20ah batteries. I also use a distribution block (https://www.mariner-sails.com/new-distribution-hub-plug-play-wiring.html) that I can connect in other stuff that I can control using a remote.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Hobie Revolution - No longer in production

Watching ICast 2024 on youtube. I didn't spot a single kayak that you could propel using paddles and all have motors. All are like big boats now and weigh over 160lbs. They shouldn't be calling them kayaks anymore.
All geared towards big people and bass fishing.

CA Regulations / Re: Fishing on a SUP question
« on: July 08, 2024, 06:45:16 PM »
According to the dmv website. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/vehicle-registration/new-registration/register-your-boat-vessel/

What type of boats/vessels have to be registered with DMV?
Any boat or vessel that you can use to transport yourself on water, such as a:

Sail-powered boat/vessel that is over eight feet long.
Vessel/boat with a motor (no matter how big it is).

Harrowing situation to be in for you and your buddy both. Glad things worked out in the end. I wouldn't be out in the fog without a radio with no sense of direction. Did he not have a fishfinder with gps as well?

All I can say is that you're a good friend to your buddy.

Slow for me. 3 squid for me only.  Not many around and were spotty and in small patches. I gave up on squid and started trolling north of the red can and hooked on to something really heavy in 120ft of water. I slowly reeled it in but my leader broke at mid column after the fish decided to wake up. Note to self, do not ever use 20lb leader again.

Caught a few underlings and a few small rockfish. Decided to go back home empty handed.

A number of yakkers decided to go to the hotel to fish for halibut. I didn't hear of anyone catching anything over the radio.

Leave it. Think of it as a Badge of Honor!!

+1

It should be against the bylaws of NCKA to remove such stains from a kayak, and anyone doing so should be excommunicated!

This!!!

Hah. You're the squid king. How come your kayaks look like they're scrubbed and polished in your videos.

General Talk / Getting squid ink stains off kayak
« on: June 12, 2024, 09:24:20 PM »
Got the revo blotched up with squid ink during one of the outings. I was able to get some off right away by washing it with saltwater right there in the ocean but unfortunately I missed some areas which gave my kayak a tattoo that won't come off even with soap.
Any ideas what to use? I've heard magic eraser works but didn't want to scuff up the kayak.

I've seen a couple that size pulled up on a party boat near the Farallon Islands. Deckhand stuck it into one of the igloo coolers. Poor thing kept trying to get out.
