Used to trailer the boat up there.   East side of the island is protected waters.   Big tides.   Some nice swimming beaches on sunny days.   13’ tide, lets the sands warm up and warm swimming waters.   Don’t restrict yourself to rivers.   Never did the Sunshine Coast, but looked at it.   Some good fishing.   Check the regs.   Lots of mlpa areas, and rockfish can be really restricted.   Don’t know the salmon regs anymore, but are not as liberal as used to be.  Good resource is

I have the inflatable, looking at the plastic boat.   The inflatables fit in the back seat of the 2500 GMC.

I have i11s inflatable Hobie.   Thinking of getting another Outback for shadow cliffs.   Are the pedals the same?   Was thinking of looking for an Outback mixing pedals.   Got rid of my Outback when I got the camper and not going to put on top.   But for local, rack on car.

Being an engineer, I was impressed with the cutting foam insulation and glue for the prototypes.  Not sure about the foot run paddle being very efficient.

Do you have to get a lake county mussel sticker for the yak?

Did not take many pictures on the river.   Will post some of the area when I get better internet connection.  Drops out a lot.

Kayaked the estuary of the Rio Ora to the mouth at Playa Camaronal.  They said lots of Snook and Snapper in the river.   Did not fish, but lots fishing at the mouth.    Small ours, but mostly bait.

I don’t think you can proof for sour with warm temperatures.   Just overproofs an doesn’t rise in cooking.   You can add citric acid for extra sour.   Fruit Fresh is citric acid for canning.

Great person.  Have not seen him for years, as I don’t seem to fish that area much anymore.   Used to launch my 14 Valco there for short run.   Now with a 21’ I can launch cheaper at Richmond, saves $26 bridge toll.

Tamarindo is probably the high crime area of CR.   Lots of foreign surfer bums there.    So watch your stuff.  When you go to the parks like Manual Antonio, high a guide and be in a small group.   They know where the animals are, like bats and you will see it’s more.   They have great spotting scopes.  If you get to Monteverde and like chocolate, get the chocolate fondue at the Treehouse, good restaurant, get the one for two.   Will feed 4!   We went to a beach, and can not remember which a ways north of Tamarindo.   Vendors on the beach with great grilled food.  The Casado in the diners is the daily special, and have never had bad.   No fishing license from shore.   On way south to Manual Antonio, you will need to stop at the Tarcoles Bridge.   Will be lots of vehicles parked.  You can see the saltwater crocs in the river and on the shore.

I have a 4 piece I am taking to CR next week.   So, they do not have to be telescopic.   Where are you going in CR?   This trip we are Samara Beach and Cahuti near Limon.

I feed my starter each week or two.   Try for weekly.   Keep mine in the refrigerator after I let it feed for awhile when I add more flour and water.  Don’t add too much water.   Go by weight, not volume. You may not be adding enough starter, along with to cool to rise.  Most of my recipes call for a cup of starter.   I do the King Arthur crumpets a lot.   You can use canning jar lid as the form, but Amazon has stainless 6 park rings fairly cheap. I use this recipe a lot.

You can also put the bowl you are rising in, in a warm water bath. I also cook most of my breads in closed pan in the oven, with a little water. Added for steam.   Mine is a cruisinart stainless stock pot with stainless lid.   Sometimes you can add a little instant yeast also.
